Default Building My 06 350Z Need input/advice

Whats up guys! So its time for me to build my Z car.

Currently running:

Powerlabs GT35R ST Kit
600cc injectors
Turbo XS Utec
Walboro 255

ETC.. you guys know whats in the kit.

Running HKS true Cat Back with custom revers Y pipe due to single turbo set up to keep the dual exhuast look which I like much more than single.

my goal is to be 500-550whp with the following.

Wiseco piston and ring set.
Eagle connecting rod set.
ACL main bearing set.
ACL rod bearing set.
Engine thrust washers.
ARP main stud kit.
ARP head stud kit.
Engine gasket set.

Do not want to do Cams, fuel system upgrade, or larger injectors. etc...

This is a basic build but I fell I can reach this goal. However there are plenty of much more knowledgable guys and girls out there than me. so with that said

What do you guys/girls think...

I agree. He should look at doing a FRS. Over all it looks good.

you would have a VERY hard time hitting those kind of numbers even with Cams and a fuel system, you might want to reconsider your power goal, or upgrade to the GT37

Meth and an 1.06 AR housing might get you there but you will have the turbo maxed out. Look at a bigger turbo from the get-go and you will be alot happier with the results and possible growth down the road. A bigger turbo from the beginning will be cheaper than experimenting with your current GT35r.

I keep hearing that the turbo is not big enough, however intensepower was able to make 653rwhp with the same kit and from what i was told all they did were larger injectors, cams, fuel upgrade, and ofcourse internals. I honestly didnt think that the turbo would be a problem. I guess it is going to be a waiting game now. already bought the parts car is at the shop now. thanks for the input man

You are getting some solid advice here. Watch the duty cycle on the injectors as well. Also, I am assuming that your number is a DJ, correct?

I'm really not sure. I just remember talking with them and them telling me that I would be able to get to 500whp easily with just internals. Guess we will see soon. Car should be rdy in bout 2-3 weeks

What type of Dyno will it be tuned on? I know there was a lot of controversy with another member because he couldn't make XXXwhp on his DD, but would have easily made his number on a DJ. Simply by the way they read. Just something to keep in mind.

a gt35r will only make over 600Dj on full boost and race gas.

You can make 500 on a DJ with a aggro tuned pump gas gt35. I wouldnt drive it like that, but it would be up to you.

Thats a common turbo on 2L 4 bangers. definitely too small for top end a 3.5L V6, esp with that turbine housing. PL chose response over top end. If you already have the PL kit, a good option would be cut off the T3 flange and put a T4 flange on with a divided housing gt40 and a quick spool valve.

You'll make more power with similar response. Otherwise, be happy with the quick spool and stop chasing numbers.

Think my shop has a DD my car currently is running 386whp on his dyno at 8psi was installed and tuned by ray at PFS. have had no issues at all just want more power. Thought 500whp would be easy to get to. figuring out I'm wrong...

Str8dum makes a good point. Are you trying to make a 500whp street tune with pump or race gas? I do know the 653 Intense made was on C16.
