My 350Z TT Experience
If you saw scratches under those conditions, imagine what you would fine upon a cleaning and good inspection. Too bad this one seems abused. 15psi on a stock block? Unicorn, eh? I like it.
I wouldnt pay any amount of money to take on somebody else's problems.
Thats why buying mod'd cars isnt for the faint of heart, it may run well when you est drive it, but honestly speaking the owner is selling it for a reason(s) and the more you drive it the more obvious it becomes to you, you were just played.

They let me take it out without a salesman because I was pre-approved on the car and very serious about buying it. I also did not drive the car that hard since my wife was riding along with me at the time. I am merely saying that the car was ridiculously fast, and when you got on it, it was hard to keep the tires from spinning especially since it was 20 degrees out. Its not like I was out drifting and bouncing it off the rev limiter or anything. Again....my wife was in the car with me. I don't know anyone that would test drive a twin turbo 350Z they are getting ready to spend nearly 20,000 on and not at least get into it. I would have drove it the same if the guy at the dealer would have been with me. You are probably right though, its a wonder they didn't try to blame it on me.
it almost sounds like the dealer knew there was a problem, since you broke it you buy it applies to most any transaction. Its plausible you lifted the heads while driving, but since they didnt seem to care, its quite likely the techs had plenty of joy rides in the car before you showed up.
Either way, you got off lucky!
cuz its not your mess to deal with. Also remember, this is 100% indicative of what you'll be stepping into when buying a used FI Z for that cheap.
