ebay turbo kits?

So wait lets get this straight. You dont have a lot of money to spend yet you want to turbo your Z? Have you ever considered the fact that your engine may blow and then you have to replace it. Expensive kits with a professional tune blow all the time yet you want to slap a cheap kit on your car having limited knowledge of the subject, and even more limited funds to start off with? Keep your car stock with a nice pair of rims and keep what it seems like much needed money in your pocket. If you don't have 10k+ to blow, then don't even think of FI. It's not just the cost of the kit, it's the cost to fix things when they will eventually go wrong.

if you think a turbo is something you just buy and install on your car and live forever after and thats it, you're lacking a huge amount of knowledge on the subject.
leave it alone and buy yourself an intake or somethin

I know a couple guys that bought the eBay kit they said it was awesome it was only $700 and my friends both made over 450whp both cars are crazy fast and they have super loud blow off valves it is so awesome.
Somebody can't just delete this thread because I got information from one person and the rest just ***** and cry that I asked a stupid question. Get over it and go on. It was a simple question. I was considering FI because I heard na was more expensive than FI anyway and you don't get as much gains so yeah. Was just considering both. You guys don't have to cry about a simple question. Thanks for the one person who gave me actual information and now I'm not gonna go with that option. Might just do some bolt ons and be done. Whatever. Mods can delete this, I got my info. Thanks.

Can you afford 3-4 engines down the line? let's face it, most of the FI people here are on their 2-3 or even 4 engine, including me.
Save your money and sell your car and buy a car that came FI from the factory.

Actually, Supra guys had some success with Ebay kits. However, those Ebay kits are knock-offs of a brand name turbo kit, and it comes with proper manifold and piping. They also have a lot more room to work with in the engine bay, so minor fitment issues are relatively easy to correct. Most usually just use the manifold and change everything else with brand name products. However, that won't work with our cars because 1. the kit doesn't even come with proper manifold or piping, so it means you pretty much have to fabricate the kit from ground up, 2. our engine bay is TIGHT space wise, so everything has to be precisely fit. 3. The turbo and wastegate that come with the kit will fail miserably after few thousand miles, leaving you with disgusting mess to deal with.
So just buy the proven products to begin with. You'll save the money in the long run.
One more thing to consider. NEVER EVER go NA to FI if you don't have the cash. Save up until you have enough money, period.
