all ravaz is saying is, that every topic relating to SC's always comes back to the same issues. we all know by now what the problems are. will ati correct them is the only issue at hand now. and that may not even be on there hand being that it is a timing issue. can they sell the kit with some sort of timing retarding device? that should be what we really need to see changed in the kit. it seems that every other post has to deal with this kit and it's faults. i truly believe that what every company came out first would be dealing with the same issues. why stillen isn't having this issues (as far as we know) should be looked at. i hate the fact of changing the hood but that kit seems to be the less talked about around here. i guess if you want a trouble free FI upgrade than that may need to be it.

RainmanZ, moderator just pm'ed me and told me he was able to add the pulley option on the poll but not able to change it so you guys could select multible choices. Thats for trying RainmanZ and I hope you guys can just select the option that you feel represents you experience the best. You can of course add comments in a post for multible experiences.

Sorry for not making a "perfect poll" at the start. I better keep my day job.

I guess I have a freedom some dont have. I have not invested (yet) in any FI system thus I can be (IMHO) objective without fear of a company or anyone elses wrath like a tuner inhibiting my pursuit and actions in determining the issues and solutions. I am going to upgrade my hp be it FI or NA. Money is not the issue, just feeling I know the best product is.

I do agree that ATI is just the 1st SC out and any kit that is out that does not address these issues will duplicate the problems. Lets face it, timing, A/F mixtures seems to be the issue that is causing the big problems.

Some may wonder why I am sticking my nose into this ATI thing so much. It is simple:

1. I dont want mod companies to think that the Z community will allow them to screw us. We need to expose poor service and or engineering for what it is. If Vortech, DW or any company does not deliever service or a product that performs well, I will be involved and concerned. I am looking into all SC kits. ATI had the guts to release theirs 1st which was a risk. If it had no problems, they hit a homerun, if not, they would have to deal with those issues with all us of watching.

2. Heck, if we dont solve it on the ATI, it will just be Vortechs or whoever releases next kit with the same issues. I dont want to see any more Z owners with problems or fears of ruining their Z. I surely dont want my Z having problems.

3. I need to get a handle on what is wrong because it is apparent that some of these companies dont when they release a product. I refuse to let a company get my 6K from me and then walk off without support. It isnt the 6K for the kit as much as the cost of replacing internat parts to the motor. The sad thing is, it is us Z owners that are doing the R&D for these companies while risking our motors. To put it bluntly, it really pisses me off big time. Some of you have the money to fund multible motor repairs. Even if i did, i would not want to put my resources into doing that. We are buying kits to give a profit for a company to do R&D for us so these kits work, otherwise, i could just go to a tubo place and have them custom build a set up for me and if they did it right, it would be as cheap as blowing up a motor with a SC kit and replacing it.

You may not agree with my perspective, i dont expect you to. If I am going over board then I am but if manufactures did the proper R & D and installers did their job correctly, we would not have endless discussions on this topic. We would be enjoying the hp we gained only.

Jeff: Again, I need to say here that ATI has been VERY good to me as far as support. Every time I have questioned them either on the phone or via e-mail, they have been very helpful, friendly and very prompt with replies. Granted, I haven't had any problems but that doesn't mean that I haven't been questioning them on several issues we have been discussing. Will they replace my motor if I blow it? Certainly not. But if I have a problem, it seems that they will be there to help me with it.

One example. Remember the thread I posted when I did my first oil change? I had all those little metal filings and silver colored oil. I e-mailed them pics and I talked with a tech at ATI while he looked at the pics I mailed.

They assured me that this wouldn't be a problem and was to be expected BUT, they were logging this on my file (based on my SC serial number) and if I had ANY problems with the blower in the future they would replace it under warranty since I notified them of the "problem".

As it turns out, I have had no problems and my second oil change was uneventful.

Just my 2 cents.

just because they don't post on the board don't think that they don't have ok customer service. some of the people on the board could agree.

at what mileage did you change your oil the second time. R U aware that they have developed a method of pulling the oil out of the filler now to make oil changing easy on the dealers..... I wonder if now that it isn't drained as their manual states no one can see those little metal fillings any more ?

The best method for oil change on the ati is to remove the inner fender well on the drivers side with the car jacked up on jackstands...The plug is right there..

zland don't take this the wrong way but, for those that do have the kit let them talk for themselves. it's clearly put that your not going to get the kit so just wait and see what vortech and dw comes out with if your going to get a kit. it's not making the situation any better flaming a company over and over again. if you don't like then don't buy it. but there are some ati owners that love there kit with whatever mods and add-ons that they have. there are some that even blew motors that aren't flaming ati so why should you? thats all i'm trying to say.

we would like to see more of ati on the boards but, with all of the flaming they no i would come on here. neither would you.

Hey daking350 what's up; we've got to do it again next year. Did you see the video that Roger edited and produced?

Coming back to the questions at hand, personally, in my opinion this poll is skewed, for one thing (if you notice) each sentence is related to, either "problems," or “issues.”

Even the supposedly positive selections has imbedded negative implications; another point, there are no, “….totally free trouble free of problems…... anything…. period. On the same token, the 31.58% for the first selection is questionable.

……Many of us have read hundreds of posts regarding the ATI SC kit and debates have occurred regarding how reliable it is to own……
If it is a survey that’s focused on the problems of the pro charger, than say it; but it is definitely not a survey on “how reliable is the pro charger;” and if it is a comparison that other forced induction system should be brought into the picture.

If a positive non self serving survey is to be undertaken to constructively serve this community it has to be designed by a natural third part with no relation to the product at hand.

I have a pro charger for over 7000 miles, 3 compressor oil changes and 3 engine oil changes;
  • Have I had any issues since installation? “yes I did.”
  • Am I satisfied with the product? “Yes I am.”
  • Do I find that the product performs as expected? “Yes it does.”
  • Do I think that the product can be improved further? “Yes I do.”
  • Do I plan to upgrade on the present ATI system? “Absolutely!”

Nothing personal, just my opinion; one just can’t take this type of survey seriously, as obviously it is directed towards the negative points related to the product.

350Zzzz:

I spoke to daking via pm. He suggested I create the poll and i suggested he do it. Finally, I decided to look over all recent threads related to ATI to determine what options to put in the poll.

I selected those options off of what people that own the ATI stated such as "I have had no problems with my ATI SC", or I had this or that specific problem. I did not make those post, i took them off threads by ATI owners. How can the first option be considered biased or negative when the option is i have no problems with my ATI SC? I would consider that a positive endorsement if i was a reader was researching a SC kit.

Anyways, if you want to blast someone for this poll, blast me not Daking. I created it. BTW, i have no connection to any company more than any other. I talk to all companies on the phone because i like to research a product before buying it. How can it be self serving to me which way this poll goes?

Honestly, many of you have pruchased your kits before me thus it is those people that have something invested. BTW, thanks for purchasing any product before me, it helps all of us when someone test a product before we get it.

If you guys want to blast me for insisting a company helps those that need help go ahead. I find it ironic that I am trying to support people that have posted problems and they are upset I state someone should help them. I never insisted it was ATI that help them, just who ever was related to a problem they were having. Heck, it could be the installer?

I did this poll for one reason as I stated, to define how many problems so we did not continue to use terms like many or few kits are haing this problem. I took every suggestion and even wrote EVERY moderator to get Jesses suggestions implemented to improve this poll.

I am happy you love your ATI SC and more happy you are having complete satisfaction with it and it has met all your expectations.

I did not intend this poll to be a forum for another debate. I just wanted to clairify and issue. I guess some of you think I am the problem and I am making all of these issues up. In that case, if you guys want, dont participate in the poll.

Read my opening statement on the beginning of this thread again if you have not Done so.

If their is one thing i am totally biased about it is simply this. I feel all companies should design, produce, and service their product for the purpose they made it for. I do not think a consumer should have to do R & D and when a Z owner has a problem with any product, I am supportive of them getting help from who they purchased it from and got it installed from. If the consumer abused the car/product then they are resonsible for that and not anyone else. That is my bias. I support Z owners. that is what my350Z is all about to me. It is a site for people that love and own Z's. Vendors invest time and money to reach our market, the 350Z owner. We are the customers.

Good luck to all of you. May the choices you make for mods be ones that make you happy and meet your expectations.

Hey how are ya 350ZZZ!!!It was fun but one of the Z's from CT blew his engine the NEXT DAY!!!That obviously shows that there is a TUNING ISSUE with these kits...That being said, if you noticed the very first selection on the poll is...I am totally free trouble free of problems with my SC and I believe there is a 31.5% vote for that..and if you look the actual % of people that had NO problems so far, just worries, is about 58% problem free...We are not concearned with those results, we are merely tryng to determine the percentage of complete engine failure due to the ATI PROCHARGER ....And from this we hope to determine the ABSOLUTE cause of FAILURE, which no one yet has determined for sure as to what actually happened on the engines that experienced CATOSTROPHIC FAILURE ..I think people are really concearned cause we just dont know what is going on, at least if it was determined that the engines failed due to lean conditions caused by improper tuning,we would know what to look for..But ATI's response narrows it down to something like a DOZEN different things that MAY have caused engine failure..That just is not cool I personally want to know exactly what cuased failure so I can take the proper steps to correct it on my vehicle to ensure it doesnt happen, IE preventative maintainance..
I also cant buy into ATI's bs that the system is for a stock Z and any modifications can cause problems with running lean..So what they are telling me is that if I put on a free flowing exhaust to vent the gases better that I will blow my engine ...That seems that the system is running on the absolute edge of safety as it is..?This concearns me..I am one who agrees that there should have been more R&D before releasing this kit and maybee they rushed it to the market and squeezed every ounce of HP out of the Z just to get an advantage on the other companies..But I really cant complain for the price I paid for my kit Thanks DEL...

I am not blasting someone or do I plan to blast anyone about the pro charger. I am not supporting or against the author that generated this thread, neither am I defending ATI.

I said what I said to put things in its right perspective; so as to be able to move ahead in a more constructive manner where the market wins and the manufacturer wins.

I am happy you love your ATI SC and more happy you are having complete satisfaction with it and it has met all your expectations.
You see when I decided to get the pro charger I carefully considered the risk I would be taking. Do I love the ATI pro charger? ‘Not really; am I fully satisfied with it? Not really. I got it because it was the only available and acceptable forced induction system on the market. And, I was definitely not going to get the Stillen without an intercooler, and have to replace my hood.

Can the ATI SC be further developed to a more efficient level and safer solution? Absolutely; and I’ll say this, to the powers that be at Accessible Technologies, Inc. that the management needs to take a more pro active approach towards the community, their market. Up till this point, I would consider that the ProCharger group is non responsive to the market, even the positive clients.

Are they watching, yes the ATI group are lurking and watching and taking the action that they see fit.

One of the most frequently used words in business is "service," and nobody questions its right to that prominence, but "service" is merely a generality unless explained and interpreted with the customer in mind.

Today, the word "service" is thrown around as if it were something brand new. Service, however, has had the power to make or break businesses for as long as there have been buyers. The average person is commonly believed to have at least 200 acquaintances. Bad news spreads like wildfire. I hope this type of experience is one your company calls the exception rather than the rule.

But I’ll have to say that when my FMU went bad ATI did respond, a little slow but they did send me a new FMU. That remind me I’ll have to send the defective one back. When I called tech support, I spoke to 3 different representatives and got 3 different and contrary solutions. But Chris, if I recall his name correctly did give me the most sensible solution/recommendations. I must also add that the customer relation lady was very accommodating and helpful.

For lack of a better word, to continue beating a dead horse is not going to help those with blown motors, current customers and future, potential market.
