182mph in my TT-Z GTM
350z speed readings i believe are taken from the ABS system, meaning after all the gearing... so only a tire diameter change should effect the gauge. i havent compared the tire size, but if he was running a shorter than stock tire, his oem cluster would read slower than true speed, if it wasnt buried.

well no i did accidently say it backwords or at least weird. shorter than stock tire means the car is moving slower than speedo says, taller tire means car is moving faster.
whatever, we all understand that. the entire point was that the FD wont effect the speedo, just the tire size.

The G sedan with a stock exterior would shine at 200+ because of the lower 0.26 drag coefficient even though no one is willing to step up.it was amazing experience to drive Z at this speed. the car felt like it was going to take of
and that when i let of at 182mph
top speed reached 182mph or 294Km at almost 7100rpm with 3.5FD and 295/30 rear tires
mods GTM STG4 kit @11psi last time dynoed at 545whp
hope u like this video enjoy

came in here to do the same thing...
I'm glad you posted that you'd pushed your boosted Z to that limit...most will not and like there dyno numbers for bragging rights!
you good Sir, get a
for that...but 500+ horse and only 22mpg faster than a stock 07 Z in about the same distance(under 2 miles)...
just going from my experience...I want to see moar!
don't be scared...be safe
Well am looking now for 3.3fd swap but my main consearn is fuel delivery at that level 7000+ rpm for say 10 or so sec
Yes, that's just the beging 200mph coming in time but NOT soon with maybe different tires and 3.3fd

All this talk about 200mph+ and aerodynamics reminds me of this.

Yah did you see he hit the brakes, the rear wheels locked and he spun at that speed spinning his aerodynamics are worthless. When the air hit the side of the car it lifted it and the car kept rotating.
I have seen 200+ a few times on the street, **** happens quick at that speed. But you really need to have to head on straight. I am used to traveling at these speeds often.

I pushed my z to 160 and it was pretty stable, of course i was 1 inch of the ground and i have couple suspension mods. I cant wait to see what my twins will do. Of course it doesn't compare to going over 180+ miles.
Props to you OP

I hope you have the nerve to pass 180. A lot of people don't. I would do it if I had the means to.
Damn, you beat my 173mph video
Guessing it was slow to get up there though running that power level to do that.
I'll search for the vid tomorrow, glad you made it home ok. Everybody is an F1 driver online, most start to b!tch out once the needle is way past the the number on the speedo, its a mind fawk.
edit-just saw your video, that was weird your needle seemed to stop shortly after 160mph, mine def didnt.

Andrei, I lol'd 200 isn't some magical barrier of speed its just a number and you need power and ability or better aero to reach it.
Lingenfelter's C5 S/C built motor would do 200+ in less than 30 seconds and beyond. Ive had one to 204 without issue and a turbo Hayabusa with a 6'2 rider holding on for life. Stability is merely a function of removing the air from under the car.
That being said tire friction seriously dimishes the effective ability to hold grip at these speeds so don't brake, turn anything but focus 1/4 mile ahead.
The Compressibility of air, also causes situations where the car creates a boundary layer of air over the surfaces without an effective escape causing a dramatic loss in effectiveness in radiators, IC, under hood temp rise. All of these effects are significant but not at 200. Hell at 180-190 Knots (~225 mph) I can open windows on some of our planes and stick my arm out. Try this at 300+ and the effects are exponentially poor.

Watch Richard Hammond try to drive an f1 on top gear, hilarity will ensue.
Then watch James May (captain slow) drive a Veyron to 250mph.
Its not rocket science or skill just BALLZ!
