Default BC0220 HD Spring & Retainer kit... no keepers?

Hey guys. Dunno if this is in the right section or not. Mods: please move to a more appropriate section as you see fit.

I was wondering if someone could help me out real quick. I am working on installing my Brian Crower HD Valve Springs and retainers and noticed that the kit didn't come with retainer keepers. Am I supposed to just reuse the OEM keepers?

Help me out. I was hoping to get my heads finished tonight.

As you are using the OE valves just check that OE retainer & BC retainer have the same taper and top & bottom dia If they are (they will be) use the OE keppers

Correct, BC springs/retainers reuse the stock keepers.

Thanks guys. I ordered new OEM keepers from a local parts store. I figured I'm dropping thousands on this engine so why even worry about dropping a valve because I was too cheap to buy some 50 cent retainer locks. Thanks again.

<shrug> never in my life personally heard of a keeper failing.. its just a metal wedge.. if youre in a hurry and dont see any damage, id just reuse.

I'm honestly not worried about them either... Theres only 50K on my Z and those keepers really don't see any wear. But for 10 bucks It seems like a good enough idea. I'm not in that big of hurry. I'm not putting the engine back in till I can install my TT kit too. And thats gonna be another couple months before I can afford that.
