Default Resetting ECU with Turbo

I was curious if I were to reset the ECU with a Turbo and it already being tuned through Turbonetics if it would cause any problems. While my car is idling lately it sounds as if it is misfiring and the rev will be kinda strange @ low RPMs. (Bouncing from 500-800) The mechanic I talked to said try and replace the PCV valve but Idk. What do you guys think?

My CEL is always on as well but does not throw any codes.

The CEL won't come on unless you're throwing a code. Have the code scanned and let us know what it is.

without the code useless to try and help u..but no resetting the ecu by disconnecting the battery or something will not hurt it...but i recommend scanning it and getting the codes before resetting it..

It's weird I took it to the shop and had it scanned for a code but It's not throwing any codes.. This CEL has been on ever since the Turbo was installed. Should I try to reset the CEL light and see if it comes back on?

I just hate this put-put sound when i leave it idling for a minute or two.. I just figured maybe because the ECU was tuned or w/e when I sent it into turbonetics that it could be the problem. I also do not want to reset my ECU and waste a good tuning (If that is how it works).

Sorry I did not see your message. The car is completely stock the only changes are the Turbo Kit + ECU Tuning by Turbonetics. Is it normal that my car will not pass an emissions test and also have a funky smell behind me? My friend said he almost dies when he drives behind me haha.

Your setup is probably sick if it idles/sounds/smells so poor. I'd get it to a VQ tuning shop ASAP (no, not some shop that says they can do it, but a shop that DOES them). Or you can keep boosting until it blows. Your call

Would the dealership be able to fix the VQ tuning?

Well since its unlikely anyone else will i will throw you a bone. Look up your closest VQ tuner, i believe in your case that would be Intense. Take the car to them and have them check it over and if needed tune it.

DO NOT take it to a tuner CLAIMS to be able to tune it, stick to forum sponsors.

You don't seem very knowledgeable about your car, your best bet is to take it to Intense and let them diagnose it.

+1 Internets for all of you. I suppose I'll go get my tuning checked out at Intense Power but It's like a 1 hour long drive on the interstate and I'm afraid to boost :[

Haha ok so just because the turbo is spoiling doesn't mean im boosting?

Mine starts spoiling @ 2800 or 3000 and on the interstate driving at 75 to keep traffic flowing I'm definitely around that mark.

Get a boost gauge. It's really a must. The turbo will be spinning any time the engine is running. To produce boost it spins much faster and the throttle has to be open quite a bit.
