Default Sound Performance 3" Boost Acquated Cutouts

Can't use them, They hang too low for my liking with where I positioned my downpipe cutouts. =(

so these are up for sale. I had them installed for fitting, but they never got used.

looking to get 300 shipped each.

Just curious, but can this be modified to open with a switch?

It can be done, but it is more work than it's worth. It would be cheeper to buy electronic cutouts.

^ When these first came out, the guys at SP told me it shouldn't be a problem. It's been a while and I never pursued it so I don't know/remember the details, but I was just wondering. Anyway, good luck with sale. These are quality cutouts for sure.

Question regarding cutouts:

do they require an aftermarket exhaust, or can you utilize the OEM?

If I understand, these open up at a preset boost, so theoretically it's like a free-flowing exhaust no? Sorry for the OT

easily done.

get a cheap boost solenoid (just a mac solenoid) and then put that solenoid inline with the boost line going to the cutout. Have the solenoid plummed so that with no power it keeps boost from reaching the valve, then put a switch on the 12v of the solenoid so when you have 12v to the solenoid it opens up the boost and allows it to hit the cutout and open it up.

The boost reference has to be over 5psi to allow it to open the cutout though because that is the spring pressure it's set at.

i'm doing this so i can roll with them closed at times and then act normal (open at 5psi) when i need the extra juice and want the noise.

i'm in med school, i barely have time to do it let alone take pics and stuff.

I'm knee deep in trying to decide to go back stock block or get this new built block and assemble. My time is limited and i just want to cruise again.

It's basically just putting a solenoid on the boost hose going to the cutouts.

i dont find any reason to use a solenoid with that cutout. Why would you want to keep it closed if you were boosting more than 11psi? 4psi just barely cracks it open and then its pretty linear from there.

OP, if you still have the other one forsale, you need to make sure that the circlip is on the actuator arm connecting to the valve. Mine didnt have one, so the arm popped off the valve, so I had to get under the car, pull the cutout and reattach it. I used a saftey wire loop since I didnt have the right sized circlip.

PITA for sure

Haha, I understand, man. I've been following your thread, too.
If you can, it'd be great; if not, then it's ok.

Damn, I will look at the other one, but like I said they were only used for test fitting and that is how I received them from SP. Sorry about that man.

low boost street map without the noise Some of us still use these for street cars and loud noise attracts the popo so in order to keep the noise down with some small boost you can keep it closed with the solenoid. kind of like a "street/track" situation.

350, if you have questions email me and i can answer them. If you are just wanting me to write it up for the benefit of the forums and don't need it anytime soon i can do it over the winter probably. I'd be glad to do it when i get time but i wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it.
