built block single turbo kits have not shown any decent power curves, esp when you compare to dime a dozen greddy kits.

and I certainly wouldnt bother with any T3 framed turbo kit either. Powerlab is a good stock block turbo kit. There is much more potential from a T4 turbo thats either rear mounted or midmounted if you wanna stay single. otherwise get a greddy kit

I just have this one chart from probably the lowest reading dyno around this forum:

Built short block, stock DE heads, stock cams, stock intake manifold (no spacer either), on pump gas. I think Jtran also did a nice single GT4088 that made great power.

So I would not dismiss the ST idea.

You know that I only use T4's

Jtran used a twin scroll T4, not sure of the a/r.

That was a 6765 .81 a/r. There is still a .96a/r one could jump up to.

Hello everyone, my name is Saad and I'm new to your forum. I have a 2005 350z with a Power Lab kit running a 35r. It has a ProEFI and a SaadRacing fuel, valved exhaust and forged engine build. The car dynoed 625 rwhp and 612 ft lbs torque. Let me know if you guys would like to see the dyno sheet.

It has a very usable power curve. Makes tons of torque. Check it out and let me know your thoughts.

Ya, I took the plugs out and gapped them down after. Runs perfect now. Notice my smoothing is at 0 not 5 like most others.

13:1 AFR is ragging on it pretty hard along with 249 kpa = 36 psi. thats some serious boost.

Are you the same supra Saad?

I actually think he's pushing around 21 psi on that dyno run and that line that's hovering around the 13 mark of the AFR looks like the Manifold P/boost on the left axis.

Ha, ya, thats prolly the boost curve, but it still shows 249. IThere was no AFR, thats why that line is at 15

where do you get 21psi from?

On a Dynojet dyno an NA car will typically read 100 kPa across the board , I just subtracted that 100 from the 249 kPa, and that's how I got 21 psi. It's the same with my dyno too, my kPa reading was around 140 kPa but there no way I'm running 20 psi as I'm just running off the wastegate spring, it's more like 40 kPa (5.8 psi).

makes sense as 100kpa is about atmosphere.

Thumbs up

Welcome and congrats Saad! It's nice to see the potential of the PowerLab kit with E85 and ProEFI.

It's also good to see independent dyno results that refute the bullcrap that has been spewed on this forum by a rival manufacturer.

Thanks, Power Lab kit is great kit for the money. Unless you are trying to make over 800rwhp, there is no need for the expense of a twin turbo kit in my opinion. This car can run a high 10 or low 11 on street tires. This past Saturday I challenged a blown big block 71 Camaro to race and he backed down. These cars can be a lot of fun if you know how to set them up Also, my car does not just run on E85, its a true flex fuel car and it had launch control and traction control.

I have the power lab. I don't notice much leg or as much as i expecting for the size. I made 386whp and 387tq and that was by choice but stock internals so wanted to play it safe ... That being said if you were debating vortech or powerlab I would say powerab if tq and over all potential were your concerns/goals. But since u already have the vortech I would say only upgrade to turbo if it's for twins or if planning to build the
Motor then I justify switching to the powerLab
