Default Defi Advance Gauge Wiring / Temp Ranges

I recently replaced my old Defi BF gauges and control unit with the newer Defi Advance CR gauges and control unit. I tapped the same wires that my old control unit was running off of and so far everything is working fine except I'm having issues with the gauge illumination.

Since these are CR's they are only supposed to illuminate at night, correct? If that is the case, is there a sensor or something that tells them to come on in the dark? All of my wiring should be correct, but I cannot get them to illuminate after the opening sequence.

Also for reference, what are the average temp ranges you guys are seeing under heavy load / track use for oil and egt? (SC not turbo.)

Figured it out. They don't operate exactly the same way the old BF's do. If anybody needs any help with them let me know, I'm pretty familiar now.

I see oil hit 245F on a SC'd car, and that's with an oil cooler, on the track, and we have to back off. Water usually sits about 215F.

Ruthless mine like to turn off the LED randomly. Maybe we can do that ice cream date in downtown and you can help me with my gauges?

Thanks Scott. I'm running an oil cooler as well. The car will be used for HPDE (until I get some skillz), and open days.

My BF's had that problem too. The vampire taps seem to have problems depending on the gauge of the wiring you're tapping. You're buying the ice cream...better have sprinkles...

damn gauges took me more time to wire two gauges than wire my carputer mac setup in my Z.
If just UpRev was supported my Mac I would even bother putting any gauge.

How would you monitor oil temp with the uprev? You still need to wire in the sensor?
