Default Check valve question

Posting this in F/I for quick tech results.

Wanted to see if anyone knows if the power brake booster vacuum line requires a check valve in it? I am speaking of the small U shaped hose coming off the pass side plenum and connecting to the hard line by the battery compartment. The other side of the line connects to the brake booster.

Just trying to figure out if the check valve is internal in the booster, in the hard line or doesn't exist.

Thanks Guys

edit**

misread your post.

i put a check valve on my brake booster line right on the drivers side. but, when i was vortech'd i didnt have one and didnt notice any problems. when i installed my TT kit, i did install a brake booster check valve on the drivers side only. if i were you, id just put one in the line on the drivers side for good measure. unless its hard for you to get your hands on one.

yes you need one, you never want boost going to the brake booster.

it is located in the u shaped hose where it bulges.

Don't have boost any more right now rich. If I install the check valve it would be flowing into the plenum, not out to the booster?

you still need a check valve when N/A. That's why there is one there in the first place. We just add another when boosted for good measure.

Thanks guys. I ended up just drilling another hole in the firewall into the brake compartment and running the 1/2" LS vacuum line to a fitting to reduce it to 3/8" inside the compartment.

Then I took the Nissan hose and mounted the end that goes on the nipple by the battery compartment and trimmed it down a bit and mounted it directly to the brake booster fitting. Put the other side to the 3/8" fitting and the main vacuum is done and still has the factory check valve.
