you're going to run into the same issues a the veyron pump.

It wo'nt fit a stock basket so you'll need a custom basket designed. I'll say you will probably have over 800$ with the pump and the basket in which you could have just bought a twin pump basket. So if the reason is to reduce cost, this won't be it.

ya, you'll need a good bit of basket mod to fit it. doesnt make any sense to do that over a stock shaped DW or Aeromotive.

walbro dropped the ball on that

it is a great price considering what a external fuel lab or weldon would cost for the same flow.

its an exciting pump. i could make it fit a lot of fuel pump assemblies. a few things have to be considered about the internal workings of the fuel pump assembly you plan to fit a single pump of this size to. you need to check the pressure drop through the assembly while running this large of the pump. the internal passage ways and filter and quick connect barb may turn out to be quite a bit restrictive for a pump of this magnatude. A pump this large is going to have issues with the venturis in the 350z fuel pump hanger. We are only able to easily enlarge the swirl jet. the siphon jet will need oversizing now, which is possible with a very long drill bit and a very careful hand. if anyone is attempting this (hal), shoot me a call if you want. i think it can probably be done.

i feel this pump will allow things to change in terms of future designs of aftermarket pump assemblies and OEM performance car assemblies. Its larger dimensions will for sure make it difficult for a lot of existing applications. It looks like they kept the top portion about the same diameter hoping that would give people the greatest likeliness to adapt it to some existing assemblies.

ill call dynosty to make sure they send us one asap to play with.

Default Walbro 400 install 2005 G35

So, has anyone actually put the new Walbro 400 into a G/Z yet? Numbers?

I've searched but cannot seem to find a finished G/Z application for this pump.

I can be the test subject if needed...

Time for me to contribute if I can...

I can see the the need to trim the bottom of the cylinder area the original pump inserts into for sure. That would allow the pump to be in the proper position for the feed line. Then a new retainer needs to be fabricated to hold the pump in place. I've also noticed the "universal install kit" includes a filter (125-190) that isn't gonna work unless you cram it in there, which could leave portions of the filter useless.
So I'm searching for a better fitting filter, something like a WAL-125-147 which will be a bit tight but better fitting none the less.
I've also got a idea on a retainer for the pump.

We'll see. I'm very curious if this pump can keep up...

^we have installed a few without trouble now. I haven't had anyone max it out to know the upper limit in the stock fuel pump hanger, but it appears the siphon setup works properly (no complaints from any of those running it) with the increased flow and fuel pressure is controllable. To install you must get creative (cutting the bottom off and new retainer) but it is not too difficult. Some have mailed their hangers to us for the upgrade to be performed which is perfect for those not comfortable with modifying their hanger.

Hal, thx for chiming in.

Have you put together a install kit for the pump in this app?

I'm good with the cutting and improvised retainer, but I suppose I'm like a most people, always looking for a better way, if there is such a thing!

We have a filter that works with it and fits the hanger, but no "install kit" or instructions

So did some looking around online and found a source for different Walbro pump filters here:

http://www.autoperformanceengineerin...html/kits.html

I ordered two sizes I thought might work out and I believe the 125-142 might work out just fine for my application.

Hal/Dynosty might have a better offering...

Not trying to be a smart ***... but can you guys explain the reason and benefits for going this route versus using a CJM twin pump assembly which is already proven at that power level?

It really boils down to price I suppose.

The Walbro 400 is @160 depending on where you buy it and it can fit the factory hanger with some modification.

Once some guys put it to the test we'll know for sure if it will flow enough for our boosted applications.

I'll be posting numbers once I'm able to. I'm a few weeks away from having anything to report.
