Default Vortech supercharger blowoff?

So the Vortech unit comes with a blowoff valve....is this same concept as the turbo blow off's? Do they make the same SWEEEET sound? Can I change the vortech one out for a aftermarket one? Any info would be great:-)

Thanks,
Chris.

Here's a photo of the valve...

I know that it is adjustable. I also know that once tightened it is audible but not obnoxious to the enthusiast. It sounds like a long "pppfffffffffffffffffffffffffff" sound when shifting.

So could it be replaced down the road with a aftermarket one?

Chris.

In my particular kit, the valve wasn't tightening properly, so the installer replaced it with an identical valve from another Vortech kit. But I don't know if there are aftermarket valves available.

I do know that the stock valve can be adjusted to be VERY LOUD if that's what you want

Did you take the white stickers off? There is a Vortech Logo underneath

Steve... my installers must not have known that

BTW, I'm sure there will be lots of followup questions (for example, I'd like more of an explanation of the level of tuning that can be done to the piggyback ECU... Also, how soon until there's a kit specific to the 5AT... etc), so I hope you'll continue to read and post as you did prior to the product launch. I for one think it's great having a manufacturer rep on the board.

the 'louder' the valve you adjust it. the more air is being vented...

(i.e. lessen the spring tension, more air through the horn, the bigger the Psssstttt noise)
