Default Car won't accelerate

I have a 2005 350z running a powelab single, I finally got the car back from the shop yesterday and it was driving beautifully. Turned it on this morning and went to walmart for oil came back did the oil change and started the car but didn't move it jus idle. When I turned on my car later and move I had barely any throttle response. It would only rev to 1500 rpm and my CEL is on. Unplugged the battery and connected it and car was fine, drove away and about 5 minutes later the car slowed down and would only accelerate to the same 1500 rpm in 1st gear. Any ideas on what my problem can be? I've read it could be the TPS or the APS but is there anyway to diagnose?

Probably the throttle body took a dump on you.You need to scan it and get the dtc codes for us to help out.

Yea i will, its been nothing but headaches since putting the turbo on the car. tomorrow i'm gonna see what codes i get and will post back. quick question if the car is in the on position but isnt idling shouldnt the throttle body still open since its electrical? i'm asking because when i tried this it would't open at all and i beleive it did before when i cleaned it out before which was awhile back but i just cant remember.

After rebuilding my motor this happened. It's the throttle body, I wish I was back at home because I have the receipt for the codes that it threw in one of my cabinets.

It's one of two things:

A) You're throttle body took a dump on you,
or
B) Someone messed with the throttle positioning sensor on the throttle body. It's the little screw thing. Thank god in my case it was just because my friend decided it needed to be tightened down. Before you buy a new throttle body I'd say find a friend and see how many threads are visible on his throttle position sensor screw, then copy it with yours to see if that does it. If it's the same amount of thread or this doesn't help at all, TB is bad most likely. I can't remember if we reset the throttle sensor after adjusting the screw or not..

Oh well, let us know what the codes are and hopefully it's just the screw was tampered with.

Thanks for the info, probably gonna have to wait until tuesday to get a hold of a scanner to see what codes I'm getting because ofmy work schedule, hopefully its that simple. I was also wondering if it could be heat related that is causing the throttle body to not function? I know since i went single turbo my engine bay should be hotter but i didnt expect it to be this hot lol. my headlights get pretty hot and you can feel the heat coming from the car when its on. Temps from inside show everythings ok but just wanted to see how hot other engine bays are getting.

Mine used to go into safe mode and not rev past 1500 about twice a year. I just truned the car off and restarted it and it would always go back to normal. I drove my car a couple of weeks ago and it did this about 4 times in an hour. I wonder if my TB is going on me too?

Do you have to recalibrate the TPS sensor to a correct voltage?
On some newer atv's and side x sides i have worked on you have to calibrate the sensor to a specified voltage so it reads rite or it will be all ****ed up. Time consuming and a PITA but easy enough. They make proper tool for this but a half *** way is to shove paper clip into positive wire port in back of the clip and hook ur meter up to that....then make adjustments accordingly.

Interesting!!! When you would rev did it feel like it was bouncing off the rev limiter at 1500 rpm or did it just accelerate to 1500 and not give any more throttle? In my case i would floor it and it would slowly climb to about 1400-1500rpm but no bouncing off rev limiter effect.

It just slowly revs to 1500. I installed everything over 3 years ago.

I have 93,000 miles on the car. not sure if it could of been with install but the car was driving fine and didnt thrown any CEL but it is always possible. I installed the kit my self and then my shop installed it again after repairing a busted head gasket(thanks to another shop installing the hose on wastegate inproperly) that was making the car run super rich. many factors come into play, but like i said it was driving perfectly fine for two days and then the throttle issue. I also don't know if the excessive heat from the turbo has a part in all this. if anyone can chime in on how hot there engine bay gets with a turbo kit because i'm not sure if my headlights should be getting that hot

Need to know the codes before making assumptions. I too thought my TB was the problem but it wasn't in both cases (happened to me frequently on two occasions).

What EMS?
