Well it happened. Wife ended up pregnant and its TWINS..... WTF.... I already have 1 kid that's 100% go go go as it is. Now 3!!!!!! Good thing is I'm not considering selling the car (thank you Chevy Tahoe) but i might downgrade it a bit... I all of a sudden have a guilt about my car.... Has anyone else been through this? All future plans are now on hold. No body kit, no new volks, no new guages, no turbo upgrades, no nothing.. I really only plan to use it for road courses and the occasional street cruise. Wife is on board with keeping the car, but she has took a couple jabs about spending money on going faster. Might sell some stuff to make room for the now needed room addition that twins will need, and a bigger play yard.... I think I'm honestly still in shock.... Happy , but in shock...

If you are financially ready keep the car (e.g. 15k spared away dedicated to finishing the build and a engine/turbo rebuild when everything pops), then keep it. Otherwise sell it and buy some diapers. Oh and congrats .

No guilt on my build... to be honest it is my 'cave' when dealing with the stress of work, fam and kids.

 

Motor / turbos already built fortunately.... But when the doc said twins I saw everything flash in mind at once.. LOL

 

One of the reasons I don't want kids!

 

By far my kid is more enjoyable than any car..... But Damn I hate dirty diapers...LOL

see, unless you make bank, having kids with a mediocre job (not implying to you, just generalizing) is just game over in my book. you have to give up/sacrifice a lot for the well being of your family. i'm still young, i want to buy the stuff i want, do the things i wanna do, and accomplish a list of goals i have before i have kids and "settle" down.

Im fortunate to have a great career so financially I'm good. Pretty much if you can post on this forum and say Ur FI Ur better than most people in this economy. I have never spent one dime from my salary on this hobby. I do side jobs to fund this. I'm by no means rich, but I'm doing ok
. I also just sell what I don't need to make up for stuff. I was debating selling my ProEFI 128 box. I thought is be a driving fool but I barely am. I'd feel better about it if I drove alot, but I don't and more kids on the way means less driving I'm sure. Ill track it more than I will street cruising. I see that coming a mile away..... Might have been overkill for me.. oh well..

ConGrats! Lucky I built everything before I get married and have kid. But after the kid is here, I have only driven my Z for 2k miles in 2 years LOL.

too bad you arent using it. Its pretty complicated and needs a proefi tuner to use it, but its pretty cool.


good luck in the coming months. You still have 9 months to finish the car. You havent finished it in the past 2 years, so i'd bet its not gonna happen now .

 

Not sure where you get Ur info, but the build has been done close but not 2 years..LOL.. more like 1 and a 1/4.... I did take my time with it, but my car went down the same time as my 1st kid being born, buying a house and a new truck took way more priority for me. Just didn't/don't bother to post my build on the forum. There's always someone looking to belittle or add negativity in some way to most build threads that get posted here. I'm over that nonsense. And the ProEFI can be tuned by the user if u have the cable for it... I'm keeping the car. I love the track/speed too much. Just making different moves with it with my now new situation... I was prepared for one kid, but not 2 at one time...
