Who says uprev can't handle more than 14 OSI? I'm aiming for 700 pump on my build with uprev. My friend with a built de is making 570 with just uprev for 20k miles now. I know I have my flash because I'm good friends with my tuner I'm involved in the process and watch him tune lol. I don't just ship my car off and trust some strangers and expect I'm getting what I paid for I like to be involved in the process

Uprev doesn't have Dwell adjustment, so you get to a point when the spark is not sufficient, I was able to make 585rwhp on pump gas reving to 7650 without issues but above that it began misfiring up top, the more boost/power the lower rpm the misfire would start, we were able to alleviate the problem slightly by gapping the plugs waaaay down, at the highest it made 642 and broke up just before 6k rpm.

HR could be slightly different since they tend to make more HP per psi but at some point around 15psi your going to run into spark issues without a HKS or Sun ignition amp, or even a boost-a-spark setup like "blinkerfluid" did. I installed an HKS ignition amp and it resolved the problem, rev'ed to 7k+ without missing but then ran into other issues. But like i said another car made 686rwhp on Osiris but had an HKS ignition amp.

Its possible to make high hp with uprev just by adding a PMAS and ignition amp, but that doesn't mean i recommend it. It doesn't have any of the boost cut or safety features of the Haltech and without being a pro tuner you don't even have Knock detection above 6k where you really need it. Its a good cheap solution and i've stood behind it for years, but even I am running a Haltech now.

EDIT:as an afterthought, if around 14psi the lack of spark actually causes a misfire i would suggest running an ignition amp at anything over around 12psi, even though its not weak enough to cause issues, imho it has to be costing power being that weak.

ace, sure you can make 700 on pump, but it seems you cant do it with the stock ignition driver.

we'll have to see here in a few weeks. That friend of mine with the built rev up DE g is running 20 lbs with no missfires or anything and no ignition amp with just osiris.

How much power is it making? It may not necessarily be boost it may be around a certain hp, and there are a lot of other factors too, like timing etc. We noticed it got better with more timing and also the leaner it went.

If he is, awesome. But ive seen it happen first hand on 3 cars, and would be willing to bet if it isn't misfiring there is power to be made by upgrading the ignition system.

he's making 570 wheel atm was having some cooling issues that were messing with his tune, he did a pathfinder and is retuning for around low 600 this coming week can keep u posted if he has any missfires due to ignition on his and my tune. should start a thread on this issue and see who all has ran into it with tuning with uprev

Looks like it could be more of a HP thing, makes sense since generally HP determines the amount of fuel consumed regardless of boost, and i guess you reach a certain amount of fuel that the stock ignition system can't burn.

And i planned to make a thread about it after I retuned/dyno'ed with an ignition amp but this thread came along before that. I will still try to if i have time.

more than likely his cooling issues that were throwing a code and messing with his tune :P like i said he resolved that and is retuning for 6+ this coming week, i could see the fuel possibly being an issue if you cant adjust the dwell vs it being a boost thing. still interested to see what happens with his and mine when they get tuned.

and honestly 90% of the builds around dont see more than 625 whp so i dont see the dwell adjustment and missfiring being an issue for anybody who just runs uprev and has a pro tuner tune them....
