Hey fellas i have the greddy tt kit and considering getting open dumps.. will this produce more hp? will it make the turbos spool faster? kinda new to the turbo seen any info is helpful thanks. oh im only running at 8 psi.

 

I know the greddy 20g kit comes with open dumps already and long dump tubes, not sure about the 18g kit. I think both would need fabrication to recirculate. SEARCH in the forced induction forum. There are a lot of greddy builds in there or call a shop that is mentioned here.

Also, check your spelling before you start asking questions in there.

I hate my open dumps. loud and annoying. It's not a good loud like exhaust, it's a nasty rasp since it's straight off the headers. If i have my windows down my left ear will ring after a few passes.

As for power. If your exhaust flows enough to handle 100% of exhaust gas then you won't notice a change in spool or power. If your exhaust is too restrictive to handle the turbo's exhaust and the pre turbo waste then you will benefit slightly from dumping the extra exhaust before that exhaust.

tiny exhaust. open dumps. dooooo iiiit. (actually i was too puss to install my open dumps. maybe one of these days. my plan is to use them only when i max out my exhaust set up. currently stillen 2.5 inch dual and straight pipes. not anywhere near restrictive yet)

 

Sometimes I wish I had open dumps at the track, or maybe a cutout. Not able to hear your own car due to crazy car in next lane FTL. I don't really see an issue with open dumps... they only get loud in boost so it's not like running around with a 3" fartcan exhaust.

I hated mine and I can't be happier with them recirculated now.

There was a member on here a while back that IIRC made a thread asking the same thing. He had open dumps, paid money to get them recirculated, hated how quiet they were, paid money again to have the dump out?

Had to learn hard$$ way..

I have open dumps on my 20G.. yes they are loud as hell.. it sounds like hell once i get on it.. My WG springs are rated at 12lbs so the dumps start cracking open around 11 PSI.. Do i like them well i kinda do but on WOT.. you cant even hear the turbos spool.. =(

 

Ohh one more thing.. i luv how the open dumps blow flames out on the dnyo... thats sic..
