Default supercharging with high miles

Was looking to supercharge my 03 base but I have about 96xxx miles on it. It runs perfectly fine, but will this be a bad idea with this many miles? If so then what should I look to replace before hand?

i'd say you should be fine as long as you do all the proper maintence which is linked in the FI section, but i'd do a compression test first.

If you go boost, just remember to do the extras along with the s/c kit. cooling mods, maybe a little bit more convervative tune as well as the proper maintanence that comes with a s/c kit.

Same with all, don't cut corners on parts, tune, or maintenance.

Turbo is just as safe if conservative. Mileage does not mean the engine is in poor condition. I know 200k motors in better shape than 60k motors. Maintenance is key.

Check this out. This is George @ Custom Concept Motorsports G35 sedan 193,200 miles. Original engine and trans.

Drives it every day.

Exactly, don't cut any corners or take the cheap way out just to save a couple bucks. Do it right and you should be fine.

OP, all their advice is good, but I ahve a babied DE engine with religious mobil 1 oil cahnges never even 3k miles ebtween them.. all NA parts.. and i still threw a rod bearing at 104k NA.

Can it be done? Sure.. is it perfect and you are guaranteed not to ahve problems?
Um.. thats a negative.. you certainly will inherit far more risk.

Is it an inherently risky set up? No.
Does that mean you may give yourself 9k in engine damage after installing 6 k worth of parts? Quite possibly.. once you go FI, you must always be willing to accept that option.

If you go in with out that in mind, you will be very unhappy.

Yeah, maintenance is key, but you have to remember that cars are machines built by people and not every component is going to be spot on from the factory. Some people get lucky, others not so much.
