My "180", I like my ATI kit, 400+ rwhp over 300 torque and more to come!
Yeah, I like it and yes I had a problem, but I learned from it and 4.5k miles later on boost daily zero problems.
1st install went bad, stuff happens, I learned from it. ATI didn't cause my problems and I didn't, I paid someone we all know the song. But I put the kit back on! Doesn't that instill faith in anyone? I liked the blower I liked the FMIC, I loved the power, I just hated the DFMU. SO I DITCHED IT! Big deal! It's gone!
I have a "ghetto" kit now that will embarrass you lol.
Fast forward, I read a book suggested to me, I do some research I talk to another guy in another state I learn what went wrong. I educate myself while ignoring the barbs.
"Doing my own thing" I called it.
I begin fixing some things, I begin changing some things, I basically did everything ATI suggested in the 1st page of the 80 page Technical Notice thread technical post but I did it before the post lol.
So the solutions are out there, the blower is good as is the FMIC and CAI. Get the tuner kit and put the extra 800 on timing and fuel and you will not have all of these worries.
Everyone knows my cars set up and it is not the only car setup like this. We have a 6MT in Chicago and a A5T in California, two different fuel octane’s, two different elevations and two different temperatures and both cars have logged thousand of miles on these cars (probably 8k combined) without a hiccup.
So now you know the risks, but you also need to know it can be done right. Want 360-400 hp? Want low 12's at the track with N20 refills, you can have it. Just learn from what is posted here and do it right the first time.
Don't be afraid to boost, no matter what company you go with, just make sure you research it and have it done right and you will be ok.
Don't fear FI, respect it.
I fear large sharks, but I still swim in the ocean.
I want to beat the other guy at the track, N20 gets old and stock N/A won't do it. That leaves FI for 400hp.
I am here to say it can be done and I hope this fear eases and people start modding again so we can talk more about successes rather than failures!
New goal is an all time best of 12.1, I will need a Verter, oil cooler and tranny cooler and I am done. For the doubters who think I am making it up feel free to be in Torrance CA the first week of January and see for yourself rather than wonder and doubt!
Now go get BLOWN!
Happy Holidays!

This is exciting news. Congratulations!
400 RWHP on a car so light must be an awesome feeling.
If you get it to a track, let us know your times.
Your will get Torque Multiplication when you put the stall converter in. Your wish for more torque will DEFINITELY come true when you add the 'verter. How much stall you planning on?

Reminds me of when I bought my Stealth Twin Turbo back in the late 90's. I just wanted to have a reliable street car that ran high 13's. Added a K&N Filter (what I promissed myself and parents would be the ONLY mod I purchased for the car!) and went to the track - ran 13.4's! Wow so close to having a low 13-second car... So, I figured, okay.. I will just do one more thing and install an exhaust - went to the track again and ran a 13.1
Of course now all that I could think about was running a high-12 so I could say I had a "12-second Stealth". Added a boost controller and wham - 12.5's. We'll, what's a mid 12-second car when you can have a low 12-second car, right!?
So added a few more mods and ended up running a best of 12.12 with the stock turbos. Needless to say, there was no way in hell I was going to stop there SOOOOO close to the 11's.
Now I have a 750+ All Wheel Horespower Stealth that was originally bought to "stay stock" because my other car (1995 Pontica Formula) ended up with a ATI Procharged and 383 stoker motor and its roudiness (rear wheel drive, V8, tons of torque, roll-bar, etc.) was a little too extreme to drive back and forth from college.
Go figure!
I am willing to bet you're not going to stop at 12.1!

Hope everyone has a great Holiday!
See ya,
And Mike has deftly stated our "goal" dilemma... the need for MORE speed!
Let's just say it the way the rev'nt says about sanctification: "Achievement of ET/Speed is not and end, but a life-time process."

Well going into the 11's on a regular basis requires a cage etc (NHRA rules) so I may dip into it once lol but I would be single the first time I put a cage in my car, I dang near am now.
Now if I happen to "break out" as in oops just for that slip then so be it!
As for Verters I am going with 3100 from Edge Racing. I had a 3200 Yank in my T/A.
Nice to see you round here Mike, and Black T/A here is some pictures of my track. Drool at my Firehawk Intake.
MTI Clear Lid with a NOS 5177 Kit. See the Yank, Hypertech stickers?

P.S. Torrance is a reflash and a Button Willow event. I will have on my Crawford Intake and RT Cats for flash by Tadishi.
