my vortech made 400ft-lbs. my dynos are all over this forum.

who cares what the boost level is.... LOL You dont get on a dyno to measure restrictions.

Show me a Vortech at 8psi pushing 400ft /lbs. You can't.

Whats the point in bragging about a S/C and how it can match a turbos TQ if it takes many more mods or much high boost?

If you dont want to talk dynos tell us what it ran at the track.

Who's bragging? Only speaking the truth.

Its doesnt take more mods. I slapped on a V3 vortech, plumbed up a fuel system, and ran a UTEC. As basic and easy to do as you can get.

Boost is a measure of restriction, not a measure of power. High boost, low boost, its all relative and worthless in any intelligent conversation.

I'm glad I had a supercharged car, and I'm glad its turbocharged now. But on a stock block, it really doesnt matter.

yes after talking with multiple forum members and other research i picked up tougelabs v2 kit with mutliple diff pulleys, momentum intercooler, synapse bov , walbro pump, rc 550 inj, and a aem wideband along with this i am tuned on uprev have test pipes, hks rep duals with magnaflow X pipe, plenum spacer depending on which pulley i end up deciding to throw on (prob the 3.12 for the time being untill a oil cooler/return line kit come around)

You act like 400ft/lbs or close to that is the norm for a bolt on S/C kit and it's not. Your post is misleading. That's like me saying every 500whp Z runs low 11s look at how true that is.

There is most certainly a difference within most bolt on setups with turbos having a clear advantage in peak TQ and a better overall powerband.

I don't own either but have been thinking about the same question. Here are the advantages of each in my mind (probably wrong on some):

Supercharger
- less expensive to install (especially compared to twin turbos)
- more reliable since install is less complex
- easier and quicker to install
- less lag than turbo
- no special shutdown procedures required
- charge temperature is lower
- save money on intake mods since they don't help

Turbo
- bigger top-end gains especially hp
- quieter than supercharger
- better gas mileage than SC
- higher efficiency because of no continual parasitic drag
- potentially less stress on engine since boost is not continuous
- better gains on lower rpms - torque and hp
- save money on headers since they don't help

I'll look into the header issue more.

A couple of more advantages to Turbo that came to mind:
- no belt slippage
- more seat-of-the-pants fun?

In retrospect I probably would've gotten a Momentum when it was available but I'm happy with what I got in the HKS GT Supercharger kit.
