i have state farm and they cover everything (for a small additional cost). I have to have inventory and receipts for the stuff though. I think I pay 60$ something a month, full coverage, under/un insured, 250$ deductable on comp and coll, as well as all my aftermarket covered.

State farm has always done great things for me.

I have everything i own insured with them. That helps quite a bit. It dropped a little when i turned 25 but i'm 29 now and single. I already had super low rates to begin with. It helps that i've never had a ticket or accident (with me at fault) in my life. Also it goes by zip code. If your zip code has a higher accident rate then the rates are higher. In indiana it's pretty low accident rate so I'm not a high risk.

I would never own anything if I had to pay what some people pay in insurance. I'm not saying you personally have this problem but i have friends with high insurance due to tickets and they still drive fast. I don't get it. They ***** about the cost yet still do dumb **** and deserve that high cost because they are a crappy driver. If my insurance was 200$ a month i would try my best to drive like a normal person to get those rates down (if that was the reason the rates were high in the first place).

Has anyone collected on a total loss claim where your turbo kit was insured? Seems kind of odd that Geico won't cover simple crap such as exhaust or paint yet other popular companies supposedly cover anything for so cheap?

And yess I have all receipts including the big one where my kit was fabricated and installed. They didn't care and recommended we change the topic before my car got cancelled LOL. When I brought up 'aftermarket turbo' the whole conversation changed.

I got rid of all insurance except liability. If my car gets wrecked that will be the best thing for saving me money, ever!

Online companies are ****. plain and simple you get what you pay for. I will never go with some online company that "saves me money" because they end up screwing you in the end. I've had so many friends with simple accidents get hosed and don't even get book value for the car they were driving. These are normal daily cars, not aftermarket cars either.

Even allstate screwed me over when some other lady hit me and jacked my neck up. They wouldn't pay for any of my bills for my neck to be fixed but they paid for pain killers (since we all know THAT fixes the problem). Complete BS. State farm (my own insurance) picked up my tab for me. So i wasn't even the driver and someone else caused the accident and my own insurance company didn't hesitate to help me with the bills the crappy allstate wouldn't cover.

Good insurance wins every time. Even if the monthly rate is more (which it isn't for me).

Wrecked one of my Zs, State Farm did not cover any of my mods. I asked about the extra insurance but they played it off as my parts are preference items and are not covered. So suspension, wheels, body work came all out of my pocket. If you are getting the extra coverage from State Farm, let me know how you were able to do so please.

I just asked my agent. I don't think it raised my rates much if any. Maybe like 50$ a year or something. It's a good idea to know your agent. I've been with mine for 13 years now and always talk to him when I see him around town. Great guy and lays it out for me without any fluff.

When mine got hit they replaced my aftermarket rims without a single question.

aftermarket rims anyone will cover as they are 'common upgrades', if you add a new car on your policy you'll be sure to be asked about these kinds of simple things. Stereos, rims, ect are sometimes even covered WITHOUT additional coverage for them. Geico is no problemo for rims/stereos.

Now someone who had their turbo kit paid out for please post up. it seems some insurance companies will gladly take your money for expensive power adders but when it comes down to the cashing in the song changes.

yah i dont have any tickets on my record anymore, i had two but one fell off two years ago and the other fell off last year wernt even that bad one 10 over and one 15 over both where the cops simply in a bad mood. in NE ohio no joke ive known people who have gotten tickets for going too slow when doing the speed limit. everyone goes 10-15 over so kinda screwed if a cops in a bad mood, do the speed limit and get a ticket for going too slow and holding up traffic, or speed and get unlucky to be the one person pulled over.
but yah my insurance is the same in hawaii as ohio like i said though my dad pays the same and was in the same area code lol. the biggest drop in insurance ive gotten however was when i got married, was like a 30% reduction. i just have the two autos insured though, since on post the housing company gives everyone renters insurance automatically, i dont have enough stuff to exceed there policy.

personally i had huge problems with state farm but it was a combination of the local office and the corporate office. sitting in a left hand turn lane, light turns green and i go since the intersection is clear. halfway through the turn a suv comes barreling through and destroys the front right of my camaro, hits hard enough to split there rim halfway, and snapped the control arm. actually seperated the front right subframe from the rest of the car on my car. cops show up and deem they cant determine fault. not even skid marks where she tryed to slow down. my moms boyfriend shows up and asks the cop why he smells alcohol on the womans breath, whom was talking on the phone about how she got in ANOTHER accident apparently her 4th in 3 months, and the officer simply looks at him and says if he pushs it they are going to cite me. call insurance company on monday(this happened about 5pm sunday) and they tell me my insurance lapsed sunday at noon.

lo and behold the previous monday when i went to the office and paid the bill, on the due date the office gave me the wrong amount, 5 dollars short so they dint even put it in the system that i paid. corporate wouldnt honor my claim even though i had a receipt and pretty much told me to go **** myself. switched to progressive that week, they also canceled my life insurance after a week because they found my name on the waiver list for summit motorsports parkway amatuer drag night.

Also interested in those that have additional insurance with Geico(been thinking about doing this for a while), seems like its hit or miss based on what people are saying.

i can t im agine EVREYTHIN on a turbo kit being lost in a crash.. i mean, maybe a FMIC and piping.. either way, sounds like as long as you keep the word turbo out of it, you can cover a great deal of extra stuff for pennies a day.. keep the turbo word on the hush and get your local shop to get creative w the receipts. ( NO fraud of course.. but alot of us buy online etc. recreating docs after the fact is not a big deal.)

I'm thinking more in the case of a total loss (stolen, severe wreck, ect).

on my previous car had a turbo kit on it with other mods and when it was totaled, state farm paid half of what it costs new. All I had to submit was a bunch of pictures of the mods I had and my paypal statements.

So dont a lot of people I know that have this insurance. It pretty cheap you pick the value of your car ,and thats what's it is insured for.The only thing about it is you have to pay it in full for the year.
