Default vortech supercharger cog belt slip.

hey everyone, how was the weekend.? has anyone had isues (belt slip) on the supercharged drive belt?? the reason of this it's because I had my supercharger installed about a month ago and this weekend when I went to the track my supercharger belt slipped and rip. I was pretty upset cause I was taking a cherokee srt8 . Now the tooth from the cog pulleys seem like they damaged, does this means I have to replace the cog pulleys?

HUH? got pictures? if it was the cog belt that "slipped" you have got a serious issue. the other larger serp belt is prone to slipping especially in the higher RPM's... search for the TimRod pully mod or the GTM pully mod for a good starting place to fix the issue.

I would take a picture so that we can see how much damage was done on the cog pulley. I also have an unused 28 tooth cog that I would be willing to sell cheaper than if you were to buy from Vortech.

yeah the cog belt. I'm not sure if slip was the issue or just that the belt ripped. il try to upload some pictures later on since right now I'm at work and I don't think I can upload them with my phone.

if your cog belt shredded then thank your lucky stars you didn't do some serious damage.

good luck at Napa but if the belt shredded it was not from slipping it would be more from being over tight.

the belt you need is a (Gates Power-Grip GT-2 6008MGT20)

I vote for it having been tooo loose...When you install a replacement, try to install it where you just about have enough tension in it where you just about can rotate the pulley it wraps around..When the car has been running and warmed up, you should not be able to rotate the same pulley..
