Default Vortech 3.12 or 3.33

Hello!
I live in Ukraine, I have a full kit Vorteh REv-up, but my pulley is broken and I want to order a new one.
Tell me please, I can put the 3.12 pulley on the stock motor? Of the improvements only oil cooler!

Probably will need bigger injectors(maybe 440cc to 550cc) with a 3.12, and a new tune, obviously...and a stock engine should be able to handle it...

FYI, to my knowledge, the REVUP pulley IS 3.12" STOCK.
The NON-revup version of the vortech comes with the 3.33".

The pulleys with teeth are the cog pulleys. I'm not sure which ones go on the rev-up but I know they aren't the same ones as the non-rev.

What pulley is broken?

The one that the main engine belt goes on (big long belt), or the one on the back side of hte supercharger, the small cogged belt?

There are three pulleys on the supercharger. Cogged on the back side (engine side) and then the normal style ribbed one front side (radiator/bumper side).

The Normal Ribbed one is the one that measures 3.33", 3.12", 2.87", etc.
The cogged pulleys on the backside are not measured in Inches like that, they're measured by number of teeth. ie. 32 and 28, etc.

What pulley broke? A picture will help if you're confused

Also, the Rev up Vortech has 34 Tooth on the jackshaft and 32 Tooth on the blower drive pulley IIRC..

No one can tell you if your car will blow up or not blow up..You first asked if you can put the 3.12 pulley on. Yes you can, many cars have successfully been driven with this pulley. will your car blow up? no-one can say ...Don't know the condition of your car.

Now you have asked can you put a 2.87 pulley on your car? The same answer applies as with the 3.12 pulley..

Both pulleys have been fine on many, many Vortech driven cars..To help reduce the chances of your car blowing up you should consider as a minimum, a retune after all the mod's you make. Also, the addition of larger injectors and a larger fuel pump would also be recommended particularly if you use the 2.87 pulley. For extra safety a Return Fuel System (using your OEM fuel rails) would be great.. An oil cooler is not critical for safety.. Hope this helps..

Great post above, agree with all that.

Anyways, that is NOT the front ribbed pulley. The ones that they call 3.33", 3.12", 2.87" are for the FRONT pulley.

The one you broke is different, it's the cog pulley. This pulley is measured in teeth. Count the teeth on the old one and buy the same one.

And your stock pulley on the front is 3.12", just to re-inform you.

Thank you very much
And if I put the 2.87 pulley I need to change the head gasket and studs?
or just change the fuel and the OEM?

jpc350 already told you the answer to this.

If you aren't sure if it's ok to boost more, you're probably not ready to boost more.

Take your car to a good nissan place or respected tuner garage and have them do a compression test and general check over, tell them your plans, they will be able to answer better.

Every engine is different, does your car burn oil? That's a big indication that your car cannot take more boost without being built.

Headgasket and bolts are a waste of time if you're not building the engine also at the same time. It's silly to do just that, don't bother.

Boosting a non-build N/A motor is a gamble no matter how you look at it, no one can tell you if it's OK or NOT OK

Not sure I would agree here..The full kit is designed for the 3.33 pulley..Going with the 2.87 will as a minimum take all the OEM injectors could flow while putting the engine at risk...Personally, I would get rid of the Vortech FMU/fuel pump and all the hoses that go with it and replace them with a larger fuel pump larger injectors and a RFS using the OEM rails...No more worries about A/F ratio and ease of tuning..But thats just me..Belt and suspenders...
