Thanks for the tip on the clutch bracket. Is it also advisable to get a new pivot? I have a cd009, that should be a shorter pivot correct?
Ah, well mine had 1500 miles on it and it only lasted 2 passes down the track before it slipped and glazed over.

I'm not sure about the pivot. I had my cd009 installed by the dealership as a warranty item so whatever they put in there is what it requires. I left that alone and haven't had a problem since.

What will you be doing with your car? Street, Track, Drag?

I can help you out with your clutch purchase for whichever clutch you need.

ya i had the SS trim 1st and now have the ST. The SS was definately more streetable than the ST. But you will still need to adjust your clutch pedal engagement point with either. Also if your slave or master cylinder is weak, you will def have problems with this clutch

I looked into a spec, I searched on here lots of members had issues with them. My friend is a Spec dealer and he was pushing me to get one, I went with an Exedy twin it was more money but it is such a hassle to do the clutch on my car I didn't want to risk having issues. Anyway several months later my friend quit selling Specs because he has had several Spec clutches fail prematurely. I was at his shop when he dropped the tranny on a GTi-R that was an auto cross car running about 1/2 specs power limits and all of the rivets sheared off after 2 events it's up to you but I have only heard a couple positive experiences with Spec and lots of negative ones. Your budget is fairly limiting though,

Hmm I found this exedy twin disk for a nice price on GTM site:

http://www.gtmotorsports.com/product...cat=263&page=1

But can you replace the disks for this? I can't find any info about it.

Jining:

Where did you find this price for the clutch and how much did you end up paying?

When I long onto this site rather than go through your link the price is suddenly $2100 and Out Of Stock. Your link states there is 1 Item Left and price is $1200.

Have you contact GTM through your purchase?

I am wanting this clutch but not at the $2100 price.

EDIT: I See it has red letters as Inventory Clearance. But for some reason it's only for the DE. DE and HR clutches should be the same though? Hmm, bummer, looks like I will be forking over $800 more when I purchase a few months from now. OP you got a STEAL. Congrats

in my experience SPEC never worked well in the Japanese market, yet works very well on american market vehicles.

best clutch i have ever driven would be OS Giken Twin.

please tell me that's a joke.

My os giken twin not only was the worst drivability out of any clutch I have ever touched but it held 50tq less than what OS giken techs in cali said it should hold.

Nobody could get my car moving on the first try and most took at least 5 stalls to get my car moving if they had to do something with it. Even hal at dynosty ask what clutch I had in it because it was horrible. 100% on and off feel

my OS twin wasnt that bad, it was pretty grabby but was as bad as your describing it. and mine held 550 whp /480 tq. upgraded to the os tripple since then and with the propper csc unit from zspeed its very driveable now. i think its because theyre assemblies are shorter and require a thicker throw out bearing. the OS tripple is rated at over 1100hp/900 tq according to the os guys

There are many different options with OS Giken, All will drive very differently.

Selling/installing many different clutches exclusively for over 25 years, I can tell you everyone's opinion on how a clutch drives is very different. You can put 2 identical clutches in 2 different guys cars, one will love it and the other could hate it.

If you have never driven anything but a stock clutch I HIGHLY recommend talking to us or someone that can explain to you how the performance clutch you want/need will drive in your car. It's a big expense to purchase and install a clutch package, not worth guessing on.

You're also on the HR. I think they designed them different than for the DE.

Very true. The twin disk for the DE with the steel pressure plate is the one I was using and it sucked horribly. The OS people told me the newest aluminum plate is quite different.

So Jining:

What's the update on the Exedy clutch?!!?!

How does it feel? How much power does it hold? Difference in feel compared to stock?

I'm interested in this clutch as well.
