help identifing oil pan bolts
hey guys, got this oil pan used and it did not come with any hardware . I was wondering if any of you could help me out with the bolt thread and length numbers. I have attached a few pics. There are 7 on the outside, 3 long in the middle and the drain plug. thanks

Hope you got a good deal on it. Obtaining the hardware is going to be a pain.
You also need the oil pickup spacer, did not see it in the pics.
Looks like you can use the stock hardware for most of the bolts.
For the other three:
You could probably take one bolt out of your oil pan without it leaking.
Take that one bolt with you to the hardware store. Its metric so go to a place with a lot of hardware offerings.
With a caliper measure the length of the bolt you removed, probably on the order of 15mm. Then measure the thickness of the spacer body and add that to the length of your bolt. Buy that and maybe some that are +-5mm.
For the two oil return ports, just test a few at the hardware store to get the pitch and diameter right. Since those look to thread into a open ended flange, the length will not matter too much. Just make sure you account for the mating flange and if the tube has any kind of interfering angle youll want to have the correct length so you can actually get the bolt in the hole.
The tap on the side is probably some form of npt, 1/2" most likely.
Working on your gauge plate today in cad..hopefully will have something done.

thanks for the input man. it was free, it came with my used TT kit. What is the pick up spacer your talking about? Im on the same page as you with the bolts, thats what I plan on doing. The side tap is for a drain plug right? Sounds good on the gauge plate..cant wait!

will these work well with that pan? http://www.ebay.com/itm/OIL-RETURN-D...29ebdb&vxp=mtr
use one on each side of the pan and then run some 90s with 10an fittings.

Missed this post. Those should work as long as everything is the right size. I believe the passenger might be easier with a straight fitting instead of a 90. I may be wrong. I think mine had 45s so a 90 or straight would have been easier. But it has been months since I've last seen it. Run the lines and are which will work out better for you. Becomes very tight when you have to get to those fittings.

Since the pan does not have the APS logo on it, but looks similar, it may be the AAM pan. They may still have the hardware you need. Also, I know I got replacement bolts for my APS pan from Lowe's when I sent them out for powdercoat. As far as the spacer, you may want to give Hill's Garage in MD a call, Frank may have the spacer and bolts to sell you.

Pickup wont be needed if its the same depth. Guess it uses the saddlebags for the extra qt.
