Fuel setup questions
I am considering a vortech kit. I want to do my own fuel and dyno tune with uprev.
I would like to go for a CJM return fuel stage 0 setup with a walbro and some larger injectors. I want to go with this setup for safety and future modifications regardless of whether it is absolutely necessary with the vortech.
I like to do all work on my cars myself. I have done fuel systems before and even wired in ecu's but I would like to check a few things before I purchase anything.
1) Can I install this kit and a walbro, set the base fuel pressure to 52psi (stock?) and continue to run the stock ecu/injectors until it is time for the SC install/tune?
2) Would I simply just not attach the vacuum hose to the FPR as per the stock setup? ie static fuel pressure.
3) Anyone know of any reason why this kit wouldn't work with a right hand drive car?
4) Are DeatschWerks injectors good? Any other decent injectors to pick from? I don't want to shell out for Sards again, they are very expensive and RC's do not sound good.
5) How difficult is the return line installation to route it back to the fuel tank?
6) Is the walbro a pretty simple install?

if you are only doing a simple 7psi or so set-up just buy injectors and walbro or DW65c fuel pump and your good to go.
i find the InjectorDynamics are very stable and gives great response and solid idles.

Return line is easy, just need someone to feed a cable tie with some string round the tank then attach the string to the return line to help guide it up the correct path as it is quite tight. Walbro is fine apart from removing the swirl jet as its cheap plastic and can brake, easy =/.
Right hand drive like mine, should have no issues altho I am still waiting on my charger =(

Yes, with the walbro it will flow a little more but with the same base pressure and no vac reference it will be close enough that the o2 correction will keep it stoich. I would not go WOT with the car setup this way until it is tuned though.

yes, and don't go into WOT since there is no o2 correction in WOT.
3) Anyone know of any reason why this kit wouldn't work with a right hand drive car?
Can't think of any issues since the fuel system is still on the passenger side of the car.

DW has always worked great for me. If you want amazing injectors I would use Injector dynamics. They will cost more but IMHO worth it. Either will work just fine for your setup though.
5) How difficult is the return line installation to route it back to the fuel tank?
Not difficult. Less than an hour work.
6) Is the walbro a pretty simple install?
I don't know your level of experience. To me, simple install. To someone not mechanically inclined it would be more difficult. If you work slow and follow the instructions from CJM website it's not too bad.
Posted in the quote in bold.
Thank you very much, that is what I needed to know. So I could do the fuel system without the new injectors and drive to the tuner, excellent.
I have installed a walbro before in my celica, the whole tank had to be dropped- not fun. I have rebuilt heads, replaced clutches, all that sort of stuff but sometimes very simple tasks can be impossible like spending 2 hours trying to get to an unreachable bolt.
