I wasn't diplomatic about it, but I tried to warn you a year ago...

https://my350z.com/forum/9979055-post78.html

Tim F'ed over a forum buddy of mine a while ago. That opened my eyes about SFR. I've noticed that the only folks who speak positively on this forum about Tim/SFR are guys who bought his turbo manifolds or other parts from him; not guys who had their cars built by SFR. You don't see any running SFR built cars with big power on this forum either. SFR built cars with high whp numbers and/or fast track times have been a white unicorn on this forum for a very long time.

Default I hear ya

yeah, I remember that comment..I just KEEP believing that there is SOMEBODY out there that would like to build a nice product in a reasonable time frame...I'm hearing good things about Jtran...anybody have any experience?
I have always been a bike guy but got out of them 20 yrs ago....starting playing with this car..thought it would be a nice thing to do...NOT! LOL...

I'm going to finish up what Tim can do by Feb as I am going on vacation for awhile and want the car in my garage, so....I'll just have to keep boost low, and settle for it like it is until I feel like either doing it myself, with help or find a shop that can do reasonably good work in a reasonable amount of time (do they exist?)....

Like I have said, Tim is a whiz at fabrication....super **** he produces, but the assembly guys just plain freaking SUCK! He's heard it more than a few times from me...straw that broke the camels back was last week...

Live and learn...THE HARD WAY!

Tks guys....

His guy did take over a half hour to put the wheels
On my car...I just assumed he was being extra careful to make sure all the torque specs were correct or something

Oh really? Are you talking about how the shipping company that transported the car back to Ernie put 100 miles on it during the trip from Calif to Texas!! And it was SFR's fault???

Nice attempt to oversimplify and dismiss. If you believe that BS, I have beach front property to sell you in Phoenix.

Just got back from SFR. Your car has a very detailed engine bay. Talk about every nut and bolt was swapped for gold ones. Gold firewall looks awesome up close. Energy fasteners wherever the eye can see. You car if I say so myself Derrel is coming along. Attention to detail! Detail!!! Especially that rear diff filler in the trunk.

RudeG_v2.0 I have a built SFR engine with the turbo kit installed and have no issues. Whatever has happened in the past with your buddy is between them two and not on Darrels thread. Can you blame the guy for being pissed? His car has been at one shop to another. He just wants to feel boost. Its addicting and hes withdrawing. Lol.

As far as timelines go when it comes to cars getting done on specific deadline, your gonna have the same experience where ever you go. Just like what str8dum1 said Dynosty has cars there for over a year. I'm not gonna lie my car was at SFR for exactly 1 year but that was not a burden on me cause I have a DD.

Honestly IO have not seen a better engine bay in person and good luck with the rest of the build. LMK brother you got my number if you wanna talk to me about your ride. I will be happy to shoot it with yeah.

It would be very kind of you to ship back those Enkie center caps or Derrels as they were not part of the deal for the wheels. Thanks!

SFR has the documentation with the mileage from Ernies car when it was picked up by the transport..Ernie did not get documetnation from the driver after it was dropped off and I even faxed the documents we had with mileage to Ernie. Its clear as days that the transport company put miles on his carNot SFR.Can you please let this go already Eric????

Tim, continue to ignore the facts and the other points made in that thread. I continue to stand by my posts made then and now. If your allegations were true, it's pretty pathetic that your products (kit and/or trans) couldn't make more than 500whp with that setup and then $h!t the bed after only 100 miles of an alleged joy ride. After what happened with Ernie, combined with the lack of big builds and results out of your shop over the years, you IMO (aside from the contribution of your turbo headers) have turned out to be yet another shop on a long list of those who are long on hype and short on accomplishments. Like I told ogiehooker a while ago, he traded one brand of hype (GTM) for another.

I distinctly remember the lofty claims you made during our phone chat years ago when I was considering having SFR build my 5AT. After chatting with some accomplished OG's in the Supra and VQ communities, I realized you were selling snake oil. At least now you are finally recommending a GM auto trans swap for those power levels. I suspect we have Ernie's experience and the publicity of his thread to thank for that.

Default sfr didnt sell enter caps

seems George told tim that I told George that tim sold my center caps..NOT TRUE...I didn't clarify in an earlier post...my enkeis were sold to dizenman and tim left the caps on and sold the wheels with the caps (wasn't supposed to) ...I gave Diz an xmas present telling him to keep them as it wasn't his fault...

...glad I got a bike shop that turns my bikes around in hrs to days and at an excellent price..makes it all worthwhile....

I did offer to split the difference on the center caps since the original post never clarified that they were not Included, and all the pictures showed center caps. In addition I offered to swap back the gold lug nuts that Derrell didn't want sold with the blue ones, but he said not to worry about it on both accounts
