I looked at changing to the GTX3071 turbos before replacing my turbine housings. They looked too large to fit where my turbos are located. If we do not get the issue resolved, I may look at getting the SFR headers and GTX3071 turbos down the road sometime.
The weird thing is that the torque starts dropping right where the voltage hiccup occurs. The new alternator can't hurt.

Had a nice time at the WannaGoFast.com 1/2 airstrip event a couple weeks ago in New London, NC. Here's a vid of my 161 mph run. Slipping in 1st and 2nd and some of 3rd on RE-11s so will have to find a better tire next time around. Still caught the corvette at the end! :-)

prob dont need that rad detector...
Very cool and slightly envious! Something I'd like to do with my car at some point in time!
did the corvette finish at 144mph? did I hear that right?

I guess so; I think he missed a gear and let off? Definitely had the better launch but only so much I can do with RE-11s. Was going to go with the RE-71R next summer, but reviews have been mixed due to road noise and wear; my same complaints with the R888. RE-11s may still be the best street tire. Just cannot launch with them very easily. I usually drive the car to events, so not a lot of options to switch out to track only tires for me at the moment. Maybe a truck is in the cards to tow all the crap to go with the car...
George, long time, no post. You still have the orange beast?

were you on your e85 tune or your gas/meth tune?

e85. The 93 map is much easier to drive faster though, until you reach 4th. I need to get more serious with the rear tires to really be able to use the e85. I do have boost ramp up so as not to have that low end torque hit. Now that I listen to that particular run, you can hear 1st and 2nd spin, 3rd hooks fairly well but then the 3-4 shift is slow, then the 4-5 shift is really slow. So plenty of room for driver improvement too.

right on - take this with a grain of salt but are you putting too much emphasis on your launch? (I'd agree with you that your tires/grip is significant no matter what) I see these events and the big time cars gingerly get off the line...is there a benefit to launching in a more aggressive manner?

You are correct that very little runway is used in the lower gears. The 1/2 mile events make the launch less important than the 1/4 or 1/8 mile standing starts. The 4-5 shift is likely the largest opportunity for improvement (that's probably several hundred feet of runway with no acceleration). That said, it's hard to develop a rhythm to with the back end slipping around; more focused on the accelerator pedal and wheel slip than rowing the gears.

Still have it! Recently remodeled my garage and it resparked my interest in the G. Just browsing the forums to see if there are any new developments that last several years I have been out of the game (almost 10 years!).
Care to send me some cliff notes ;/
My FCon Vpro seems so outdated now but I don't really want to invest a ton of money into the car, thinking about making it a full time track car.

Well if it's working fine, why change? On the other hand there are some nice new CAN gauges and displays that work with the Haltech unit. So if you want that or want to add flex fuel etc, then go with the 350z pro plugin to completely replace the stock ECU if you don't need to go for OBD testing.

It’s not running right and don’t have anyone to tune it since Sam passed away. I have the software but most tuners aren’t familiar with it.
Are you running Haltech? So the Haltech 350z pro is a complete replacement with only feature missing is OBD testing capability for emissions?
Thanks for the updates!

I told my self I won't start dumping thousands of dollars into this car again but now I want that Haltech with E85 sensor!
Seems like everyone is running E85 now and without detonation issues are pushing much more power.
Since I don't drive my car often (as in years) I am worried the E85 would be too corrosive to fuel system if I just leave it sitting if I do an E85 tune on my FCon but would have to tune it myself since aren't really any Fcon tuners around. It has just been soon long I have to re-learn everything.
It was very sad how everything ended with with Sam/GTM, he passed I think about a year and a half ago.
