i want to begin a engine build to my 2004 350z... Now i have a vortech V2 SC that i need to send to rebuild with rc440 injectors, greddy emanage ultimate, long tube header, nismo catback and plenum spacer.
I live in Dominican Republic and here premium gas from station have 91 octane average.. i want to do a reliable proyect that i can use with out having to much problems of breking parts...
I was thinking in rebuild the vortech and uprade it to SI, or sending it to 928 motorsport to rebuild it and put a new high speed impeller, buy some cp pistons with 9.1 compression ratio, eagle rods, acl bearing and new original head gaset or crosworth head gaset...
What do you think of that?? its good that compresion ratio and the vortech will be a reliable or i have to think doing the car turbo insteas of supercharger??
Wich is the best bang for the bucks?? i want to use with street gas...
i have a friend the work in Mercedes Benz and he told me he can give me a Garret turbo from a Mercedes Benz car or bus to install it in my car...
Thanks!!!
i really need your help since here i dont like any engine builder.. i will do it by my self...

but i need some advices like what CR i have to use, if i upgrade my vortech to si trim or 928 motorsport high speed imperller and ceramic bearings... or just sale all this and go turbo...

Any lower than stock CR pistons will be fine for your goals.
Also Eagle rods would be more than adequate for 450whp.
If you want the best assembly around, contact Dynosty

Go get a stage 2 or stage 3 built motor from Import Parts Pro…keep & rebuild your blower if you think you will be completely satisfied with 450whp…if you think you want more than sell the blower and buy a twin turbo kit. avoid buying the MB turbo because you'll need a ton of custom work to make it compatible with your car…plan on a new ECU no matter what route you take, get bigger injectors - ~600cc, get an oil cooler, look into a more appropriate set of cams that will optimize your blower...

im thinking going with 9.0.1 CP pistons, eagle rods, acl bearing, i think i will use a new original head gasket, 24x12x4 intercooler, 600cc injectors...
about the vortech i need some inputs if its better vortech rebuild and si trim upgrade or 928 motorsport ceramic bearing with high speed impeller... some help me to decide wich one its better...

I don't know too much about Vortech - I ran the procharger for about 5years and was able to get 13psi out of my blower by going with a larger than OEM ATI (not ATI Procharger) harmonic dampening crank pulley. So whatever way you need to get 12 to 15psi…if that means going with the SI trim then go for it, if the 928 impeller is the route than go that way.
Wow I don't mean to be insulting but I thought 91 octave fuel went out with the model T. Is this not going to impede your build at all? There is a sticker on the inside of my petrol flap that says NOTHING below 98ron fuel should be used but if all you can get as a stop gap to get you home is 95ron then just use a couple of gallons of that. There's a site with pictures of cheapskates who ran crap fuel thinking they'd save a few $$', showing just what it does to the innards of your motor and it aint pretty. I'm thinking your ECU must've been retuned to run on that cough medicine. Keep it standard.

If you call education a useless rant then I feel pretty sorry for you. The first sentence of my comment explained that I didn't wish to be insulting its just that where I live nobody has even heard of 91 ron never mind sold it. So you stay in you little hillbilly world chewin baccy and shooting anything that moves and go skinny dippin' down at the crick and pulling teeth with pliars. I feel sorry that you're just so damn ignorant and give America a bad name. REsmarted, dude you need rebooting with windows 8 instead od 2.1 that you're running on now.
^ hate is unnecessary. What country do you live in? Different countries use different designations for octane (see midz350's post above yours!).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octane_rating (look under "Regional Variations" heading).
OP, your plan sounds reasonable. Check out the many other builds in the threads here in the forum...

Thanks Resmarted and rcdash!! Here 91 octane(95) ron its the street gas... it cost 6.20us per gallon, but we have all type of racing fuel like VP 100 octane, 109, c12 and Q16, but prices are to high for long trips...
100 octane its US$12.40, 109 US$14.21, 112 US$17.76 and Q16 US$23.00
I will put some gallon of 100 octane and others street gas with my build...

you are going to be octane limited regardless of whatever blower/ turbo setup you choose.
I would just keep it on the stock block the way it is. Just because the motor is built, has zero bearing if your fuel does not have enough octane. It will still knock and wreck your stuff.
And that doesnt even take into the fact the whole other can of worms about getting a "built" block and that reliability issue on its own.
