That has little to do with it....

I'm surprised because you have a V2 Si-Trim

It's V3 Si.

When I replaced my charge pipe and headers I lost almost 2 psi and gained ~20 whp with the same pulley setup. I am sure I would have close to 20 PSI without all those breathing mods.

See my first page, my first dyno with 3.33 pulley and 9.5 PSI, and the second dyno with 3.12 pulley (which roughly 2 psi diference) and new headers and charge pipe and only 9.9 PSI

Dont waste your time with the Si, Go with a V2 Ti-Trim or the V7 YSi

Do your self a favor and have the Headed Ported, to take advantage of the bigger blowers.

I don't think 1300cc injectors will be big enough, I think 1500cc min.

Hi Tim, I guess you miss read what I said. I am going with V7-Ysi-B but I was thinking. Vortech has two blowers listed V7-YSi and V7 YSi-B with 1400 CFM and 1950 CFM respectively. So I ahve 3'' charge pipe that capable of 1300 CFM would it be waste of money to buy a blower with 1950 CFM since I will not be able to utilize all that flow?

Also original Vortech piping is 2.5'' and YSi blower has 3" output, will i have to upgrade all my piping ?

P.S I sent you an email a week ago and you never replied

Yea, I read it wrong.... lol

3 inch charge pipe is fine, and would be a good idea to change out all the piping to 3 inch.

Sorry, I did not see your email, can you resend?

Tim

So I should go with the V7-YSi-B with 1950 CFM. Do you know if it will mount on my bracket or I have to modify it?

Yes it fits the bracket. The V7-YSi-B is a stout blower.

That is what Abdulha has on his set, his car is very very fast.

Also he is a Vortech rep and can get you a good deal on the blower.

The Weak Link is the 6 rib pulley system, but he has managed 32psi with it and the TimRod Radius Rod Kit.

And just so you know the standard Ysi is rated at 1600 cfm not 1400

What are your goal with the car?

Thanks for the info Tim. I do not have particular goals, just want to go faster . NY sucks because we have no drug strips nor tracks any kind.

I'm real curious to see how the RJ manufacturing closed deck block holds up.

Here is what Vortech has to say:

"The YSI-B is capable of 1950 CFM, this unit shines in the upper rpm. This unit shines in the upper rpm, if the unit is not spun close to its max, the billet impeller will not be pushed to its limits. This impeller shines in the top end.
Custom piping and maybe bracketry will be needed for the YSI supercharger. I would look at the forums and see if anyone has done this install. We do not have any information here on it"

LOL even Vortech doesn't know.

I run a calculator and it looks like with ATI crank pulley, 3.12 and 34/28 pulley setup I can spin that blower to 67633 at 7100 rpm. I would rather not put 2.87 because it will increase belt slip chances.

With Rev-UP oil pump and some head work what max rpm I could go with?

Good luck Staisman! I'm happy to see others are pushing the limits here with Vortechs. You are going to make REALLy good power with the YSi-B and headwork/cams. I am gonna work with the 1600cfm V7 YSI myself since I got it for a price I couldn't pass up.

Woah - i've currently got a v3 si.
Going to be forged later this month and thinking of upgrading to ti spec of ysi... but the latter just feels like it's very noisey and large to mount?

Great thread.

Thanks
