Default Turbo gasket, YES/NO

Re-assembly protocol- is there ever a gasket or RTV sealant between the turbo outlet and the down pipe?

You want a metal (multi layer if possible) gasket between a turbo and the down pipe to provide for a full seal and easy removal down the road.

You definitely need a gasket imho.

Do not run rtv, it will just melt. There might be some kind of liquid metal/copper gasket that will handle the temps your exhaust side reaches (I have no experience with them). Do some searching on google for downpipe/exhaust gasket maker and with enough looking you might find something that'll work.

^This!
I'd be shocked if there was no gasket there with such large gaps between the bolts.

I still would run a gasket. Unless you have v-bands on it, always run a gasket. Do not want exhaust leaking out.
