Default New Build

What's up folks?

Here is a picture of my new project.

[IMG][/IMG]

Building A block with arias ed pistons, eagle rods, L19's and jwt s2 cams. I'm building the engine with a buddy of mine on the weekends. I'll start putting the engine together in two weeks and I'll try to update this thread as much as possible.

Disregard the foot lol

Tough crowd lol. Just an update..

I bought some GSP gt35 turbo from ebay (china turbo) for my build. I took it down the street to Boost lab and they were able to balance everything and also the internals were rebuilt with a garret kit. The folks at boost lab said that the turbo looks great and he sees no reason for the turbo to fail. The guy also showed me the china turbo internals which look like they are made out of brass and the garrett ones also. Big difference, garrett internals and bearings are definitely high quality stuff.

if you had them balanced thats one of the biggest issues with the china turbos as far as exploding and failing, they will still make less power but shouldnt fail. how much did that run you?

I'm running the old tn kit(gsp) so I'm sure I won't make more than low 400 whp but hopefully I can squeeze a bit more power. I paid 260 total. The balance was 120 and the Garrett rebuilt kit was 140. He didn't charge me labor for the rebuild since he already opened the turbo to have it balanced.

thats not too awful bad depending how much the turbo was i might have just went with a precision entry level(775 bucks mayby find it cheaper) though but it should work just fine.

I am pretty interested in how this turns out. I am in the process of saving for my build. I just need to decide my final power goal. Whether what rods to go with and whether to sleeve it.

Turbo was sent with the kit. originally they sent a small snail but after i called them they sent the one i currently have. My new turbo is still bigger than what the kit originally brought. I'll see how this turbo kit turns out. Piping is not thin like a lot of folks like to claim on here.

Change of plans. Going with cp pistons 8:1 compression over my arias ed 9:1. they will be up for sale soon. Also, I am having vsr motorsport in Tampa assemble the engine. they should have it ready in a few weeks.

Surprised VSR would work on your car. I know they hate working on ebay stuff and surprised they didn't reccommend their own kit which is a great kit just really really expensive for ST kit.

I'm just getting the long block done there. I will drop in the engine and install my own kit. He did offer his kit to me for 4999.00 on sale lol. Let's see what happens, I might sell this kit and buy their kit..Who knows.
