Default VQ35DE Connecting Rods

I'm looking to go twin turbo with my 350z and was looking to make around 450-500whp on high boost. At the least I would like around 420whp which as far as iv seen is about the norm. Could anyone recommend me a good kit to do this with? Also, iv heard that the connecting rods on the DE 350Zs are kind of weak. Will any set of forged rods do or is there something you guys would recommend?

The stock engine will handle 450 whp from what I've seen. And as far as a turbo kit? There is a good single turbo kit by SOHO motorsports that makes 400 whp at only 8 psi

I read the F/I faq and the "forced induction for noobs" thread. One says the stock internals are good up to 400hp and the other says that you have to buy forged internals and that the engine will blow otherwise. Say I only want to reach 400hp and nothing more. 8 pounds of boost and nothing more. How would the engine do with this kind of stress over the course of say, 4 years?

Start here!

https://my350z.com/forum/fi-faqs-491/

End Here...

https://my350z.com/forum/search.php

Search for terms like stock block limits. The Z will hold much more than 500hp on a stock block but nowhere close to 400+ ft/lbs. Torque is what breaks these engines. Since every turbo kits, twin or single puts you close to those limits out of the box its very hard to justify your questions, let alone people try to make 500 with hopes and dreams.

What is your budget, how old are you, what is the condition of your car... now go forth and please delete this thread.

EDIT: Glad you took my advice.

Long term reliability and FI do not mix!

Lol well I didn't know much about forced induction till I started reading about it on here. I think I will stick with a single turbo on stock boost. Other than that though, my budget is around $10k. So if I cant just turbo it right away without worrying about it blowing something then I might as well just spend that money on internals.

Talk to sasha, he has he has been running low boost and stock block for a good long while with great results.

He actually posted above under Boosted Performance. They make a full bolt on kit designed for a stock block. A fully optioned out kit is within that budget.

He is correct, 400 ft lbs of torque is definately the limit and it also depends on the tune that is done on the vehicle as well. We offer a single turbo kit that would work with your budget, if you have any question, please give us a call at 704-996-8180 or reach us by email at info@sohomotorsports.com

With a 10k budget I'd go with the hands down best 350z turbo kit....the Turbonetics single. Everyone here knows it's the best, they just want to make noobs figure that out on their own. It makes great power and is really reliable.

Iv read up on it and people say that it doesn't last long. One person said that it even blew up 3k miles later. I will look into it some more though. How about the SOHO single turbo kit?

WTF mike, This NEWB is under our protection!

Troll elsewhere

He is learning, he is evolving into a possibly good member. At least his PMs and secondary questions are getting better than his atrocious first post.

BP Complete STAGE I kit: $6,450
Installation: ???
Exhaust and supporting mods : ~$2000
An UpRev tune: ~$800

10k is not enough IMO. Do you have money if it blow up? Hell, it might even blow up on the dyno. Just think what if? I wish I did that when I went FI and bought a built engine after another built engine...etc until I was like $40k in.

Just .
