10k is not enough IMO. Do you have money if it blow up? Hell, it might even blow up on the dyno. Just think what if? I wish I did that when I went FI and bought a built engine after another built engine...etc until I was like $40k in.

Just .
The BP kit is so simple that 90% of the customer have installed it themselves. It really is bolt on performance, with a very high performance ceiling, depending on other engine upgrades.

Installs by shops have been about $1,200

Lol no I don't have the money to fix it if it blows up. That's why i'm looking for something that will push low boost without crazy ridiculous hp and tq gains out of the box. I would go with an na build but from what Iv heard the 350Z doesn't respond to0 phenomenally with mods and it would be a waste. The whole reason for me getting a 350z with the de engine was so I would have an extra 7-8k to screw around with adding more power so I could well outperform the HR engine. Id be fine just making 100hp total with supporting mods over stock.

So do you think the internals found in this 4.1L stroker kit would be enough? http://www.frsport.com/VQ35DE-4-1L-S...FbQWMgodOTYAJA or would something simple without the cams do just fine, like this- http://conceptzperformance.com/Cart/...on.php?II=3085

OP make up your mind, first u stated that 100hp over would be enough, now you are looking at the stroker kits for 5G, it won't fit in your 10K budget.
If you want 400-450 whp, then you don't need built engine. Buy a kit, buy supporting mods like (Exhaust, FRS, fuel pump, injectors ) and tune it, you will be fine. When you save some more money you can build short block and go higher.

Or like someone said before go with BP kit they include almost everything you need, do it your self and save some money for the future build.

The reason I can't make up my mind is because I'm getting mixed reactions. And even if I go with forged internals and a turbo kit (Not that 5k internal kit though) I can just barely stay under 10 k. I don't want to blow my engine so it's better to be safe than sorry.

If you think I can slap that turbo kit on there without blowing it all to hell I'll do it I guess.

I'd say almost all 350z and G's with stock motor that added a Turbo, SC or N02, Blow Up Because of a Bad tune and/or not taken care of.

I've go 50,000 miles on my Z, many hard pulls on the street, and about 50 runs on the drag strip. Got a SC on it. 500+ Whp, It a Vq35DE

Alright so what would you say I should do in terms of a tune? Like where should I get it?

You can easy blow up your built engine if tuned improperly. Remember as soon as you go FI route you can blow it up anything.
Myself I am running SC with 430WHP on stock internals with supporting mods, but I don't drive so often, I have second car, I work on my car myself and I know where to look if anything wrong.

You live in Ohio, Dynosty is the place to go. They are in Louisville Ky. Closest shop that offers a Haltech or Uprev full service and has a the experience you would need to be safe on a stock block.

Agree BP kit and Dynosty for tuning. Keep torque UNDER 400 wtq throughout the rpm band. Keep the stock rev limit. You *should* be fine.

EDIT: Do not even think about building the engine and putting on a turbo kit with a $10k budget. The stroker kit you linked to will cost you $20k in the end.

That is your answer OP.

Get the BP kit and let the guys at Dynosty do the tune since they are close to you. You're in a good hand with Sasha and Hal.

Basically. At this point i'm going to save up a bit more and buy some forged internals that I have in mind. Ill probably take my car to Dynosty and have them install everything and tune it. Thanks for all the info guys.

Get your engine built by Dynosty or sound performance or Vinny Ten Racing.

They are the only guys in this forum who apparently figured out how to to build the VQ right

I've had great success with my Turbonetics single.

Been on my Z since 2005 and hasn't even been taken off for a rebuild since. Just came back from a track day and the car ran extremely strong and well.

Op- don't want to be a downer but it sounds like you've started in the same way I did (not knowing anything) and its been a miserable, costly journey I'd like to help you avoid.

The car might be faster- but also louder and smellier and garagier. Yes I know- not a word but it makes a point. Plus you won't have the experience to know when a rattle is good or bad, or a smell, or a smoke... So you'll be in the shop forking over dollars.

I know you're asking how but your financial situation is not prepared for the aftermath of a motor build + turbo (much less x2 if the first sharts).
