Default High Compression Boost?

High guys I have a rebuilt VQ35de non revup motor and currently I have 11:1 compression pistons in it.

What are your thoughts on boosting with this setup?

JWT C2 cams/shim/springs
Wiseco 11:1 pistons
Eagle Rods
HR Gasket Mod
ACL Engine Bearings
Z1 Viton Valve Seals
ARP L19 Head and Main Studs
Balanced/Bored/Honed block
Z1 Shorty Headers
Fast Intentions Test Pipes
Borla True Dual 3" exhaust
Aluminum Driveshaft upgrade
Z1 Oil Cooler
Mishimoto rad with dual 10 blade fans
Walbro 255
Bosch 600cc Injectors

I was looking to grab a supercharger to see how she does with a little boost. Do you think my compression ratio is too high or will she be fine with some FI in her?

you'd be wise to safeguard your engine with a conservative tune running 11:1 ... just curious(not throwing stones) why is an aluminum drive shaft an upgrade? do you have a G?

Indeed I do good sir, seems like Driver has died and no one is really responding to posts over there. Guess everyone that was in the game is gone.

Aluminum driveshaft is lighter. Unlike the Z, carbon fiber drive shaft not standard. So G people upgrade to aluminum (cheaper) or carbon fiber (stronger, higher resonance frequency).

11:1 will work fine with E85 or race fuel. Otherwise I would keep very low boost.

I was thinking around 9psi max on 11:1 compression

There is a guy on here with a Vortech setup 11:1 Comp running 17-18Psi FYI.

IF I ever get my car running ill be around 13psi on 11:1 with 91 oct. (Timing will be conservative)

might be worth looking into running Meth injection as well with high compression and boost...

Is this the guy that blew up his sleeved motor? Not a good idea running high boost and high compression. Not unless you are running E85 or race gas. Methanol spray is not reliable enough. I used to run it with an elaborate aquamist system with all the safeties; not worth the hassle.

Anyway, heed the warning or not - up to you all.

I think it can be done, but do it the right way. Dynamic compression, knock threshold - there are so many variables. If you have a great tuner that has equipment to detect inaudible knock while they tune then you should be in good shape.

Otherwise it is just russian roulette... lower PSI gives you better odds but there will always be a risk unless you employ the right tools and technique. Good luck and report back!

Just run 9.0 or 8.8 and don't worry about it.

The change in peak power isn't worth it.

Yeah sure you're getting a bit more power down low, but it's really not very much in a vq35.

One bad tank of gas and RIP

I just found out a bunch of gas stations have started to use E85... Looks like NJ is converting... $1.25 for gas? Yes please.

Not even close for e85. Need at least 340 and 1000cc's.
