Default My first Z forced induction build (parts list).

Hi guys first time poster here. Been lurking for about 2 years now since I got my Z. The time and finances have finally arrived so i can put a few more ponies into my beloved 2004 Touring Coupe.

The work on the car is unfortunately only going to be starting in about 2-4 weeks time since I am in South-Africa and I'm waiting for the parts from the United States, so no pics yet. I would like to share my build with you guys and would love some feedback and any tips or advice you may have. I am looking to get about 600-HP out of this current build, it is mostly the bottom end that is being done for now to be followed by the top about next year February.

Parts list.

JE PISTON-PIN-RING SET.
BRAIN CROWER RODS with ARP 625+ Fasteners.
ARP MAIN BEARING BOLTS KIT.
ARP HEAD STUD KIT.
ACL MAIN BEARINGS.
ACL BIG END BEARINGS.
COMETIC GASKET SET TOP AND BOTTOM.
BILLET FUEL RAIL KIT.
BOSCH 1000 CC MOTORSPORT INJECTOR.
AEROMITIVE A1000 FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR.
BOSCH MOTORSPORTS FUEL PUMP.
50MM WASTE GATE.
PRESICION PT6466 CEA TURBO.
CUSTOM TURBO INLET SYSTEM.
CUSTOM EXHAUST HEADERS TO TURBO.
CUSTOM TURBO EXHAUST SYSTEM AND TURBO.
CUSTOM OIL CATCH TANK SYSTEM.
CUSTOM FRONT MOUNT INTER COOLER KIT.
BLOW OFF VALVE 50MM.
ENGINE BALANCING.
UNICHIP MANAGEMENT AND TURBO MODULE.

Any criticism and feedback will be greatly appreciated. I will be updating this thread with pictures and more info as the parts arrive and are fitted. First pics will probably be of the turbo and all the piping etc.

Is this a mid-mount, front mount or rear mount endeavor??
What cams are you going with?
Any head work?
Make sure you go with L19 ARP
Do your fuel rails include fuel dampeners?
Why the Bosch fuel pump? what's the capacity and what are you doing to/for the fuel basket to accommodate your fuel system? Most people go with a Walbro or Deatschwerks
What return fuel system are you using?
Consider adding an inline fuel filter
why Unichip? Look into Haltech...look into wideband O2 sensors
How will you tune? Dyno? Road? Etune?
Add an oil cooler and possibly an additional inline oil filter
May want to consider a larger capacity radiator
Add a harmonic dampening crank pulley
Are you doing your own welding?
How are you going to deliver oil to and from your turbo? How are you returning oil to your oil pan (oil pan spacer, use of a sandwich plate, tapping the OEM oil pan)?
While the engine is out and apart consider a new timing chain, water pump and oil pump.

add money for gauges and tuning
add more money for **** that you forgot

Holy cow I haven't heard the Unichip name drop in ages, I would think you've been lurking since like mid 2000's lol. But to B's point, definitely would recommend Haltech as it's got such wicked features that the Unichip doesn't. Heck I'd probably pick a Utec over a Unichip just to have some more easier data logging capability rather than the little black box.

I'd recommend to hit the fuel system with a warhammer with going like 1,300 cc injectors and twin pump (255/485) return fuel setup to ensure fuel is not one of your limiting factors, few things suck worse that having to stop tuning just cause your fuel system is maxed.

Go with ARP L19 Head Bolts. Long story the regular ARPs failed to hold the heads on my built motor and I blew a head gasket. If u can get them, do it.
