Has anyone ever removed your transmission without removing the wastegates? I need to replace my clutch and I was wondering if I do this without removing my wastegates will the transmission come out? I have a 06 350z with 6 speed.

 

nope...gotta take the waste gates off or take the engine out with the transmission...once you get everything out consider adding a waste gate relocation kit.

Sucker Punch Motorsports has a kit that's not too expensive...

 

Thanks man that is what I was thinking but just checking to see if there was something I was overlooking.

 

Even with the wastegate relocation kit I had to remove the passenger side wastegate tube to get my transmission out when I did my clutch. At first I thought it would clear then ended up having to put the tranny back in and take the gate off. It was in general a pretty easy clutch job compared to some other vehicles.

 

Mine just went as well I think I'll be removing the engine & transmission.

 

^yea, it's really not that much more work and a good opportunity to change trans fluid and inspect wires/sensors/etc.

Be deathly careful not to knick-up your driveshaft!

 

I did it before when I installed my TT setup.
Now I'm installing a built motor and a upgrading my clutch.
