I am trying to find the dimensions length, width, height on the VQ37 motor to see how it will fit in a Datsun 521. It appears that I have height and width of the motor at the top, for a VQ35, but I am trying to find the length and the width at the base. Could someone please point me in the right direction as I have been trying to google the information for a bit. Also the distance and height of the location where the motor mounts would bolt up. I figure carving some card board up would be better then just purchasing the motor out right without knowing if I can fit it.
If im not mistaken the dimensions of the block its self is exactly the same, all the changes were internal to the block. The only difference would be the intake setup.
We are talking VQ35HR vs VQ37VHR correct? I don't have any dimensions but the VQ37VHR does have the cam actuators on the head that I think sit on the rear of the motor.
I was mainly looking for the VQ37, I am looking to see if I can fit it in a Datsun 521 without having to do too much work. I also have access to one for $400. But since they are similar the VQ35 length and width should be roughly close.
Here is all the dimensions from a DE, the are all rounded slightly so to be on safe. The HR may be a little bigger do to the front cam cover having two VVT on each bank.
