Default How many HOURS to install VORTECH kit?

Just wondering if I can afford paying someone to install this for me, or if my wife is going to kill me and make me install it.........

Honestly took me 16 hours. Most people have taken the same or more. I don't know of anyone who did it themselves and it took less time.

Do it yourself and save the expense, that's what I am going to do. Your money would be better spent if you spent it on tuning by a professional. Like Jesse said, I am planning on spending at least 2 days on it but, if it takes less, that is fine.

what is the hardest part of the install? I have never done this b4 but know that me and my to friends can do it. Do you need a lift? Any special tools? I figure if we can prep the car and tools on Friday night work all day Sat and Sun that should be enough time also with us taking our time. Thanx

I have heard several say that this kit is safe out of the box to be driven. Vortech designed this kit to be a bolt-on. But just to be careful I would keep the RPMs under 3500 or so to stay off of the boost until you get it tuned.

Are you going to do some 1/4 mile times and post them after you get it installed? I am interested to see what you can do with this hp/kit and how much you can shave off the time compared to pre-SC installation.

To take it one step further it would be interesting to see the NA Baseline, the installed Kit and the tuned Kit compared.

The Vortech kit is at it's most detuned state from the factory!

This isn't an ATI where you rev at your own risk.

IF you tune the kit (you'd be mad not to), then you better get someone who knows his stuff. Thats when it may not be so safe bepending on how much timing you put back into the system.

Assuming you are getting the G35-specific splitsecond program from Vortech you will be fine.
