Check out this thread. I detailed things to check post-Procharger install and how to check them.

I agree with ravaz and jess. Its problaby a bad plug, or connection. let the dealer mess with it. it is there fault.

well after reading this info, I would guess to say it is a misfire that the coil packs are not on correctly......I hope all is when enron exec..........I will say a prayer for you tonight, sleep tight and don't sweet it, it will all be OK........

Hi again everyone!

I just got back form the dealer and indeed they fudged the install of the new spark plugs. The car runs great and i am just shoked at how fast the car is now. The car pulls and pulls after 3000 rpms. By 4500 rpms, there is no way in hell anyone can mistake a stock 350Z with mine. The car just wants to FKN FLY! I have only taken it up to 5500 rpms on the short drive home but im gonna go back out tonight and really strech her legs.

Thank you all for the great support and help you all gave last night. I was in dire need of it. Walking out of the dyno shop with that sorry looking dyno sheet was one of my all time lows.

At least 2 of the coil packs where not connected properly so does this mean i am running richer, leaner, or just about the same?

Do i need to go back and retune my car?

Now that I am sure that the dealer fubared, and they admit it, should I go hound the service dept manager and make him pay for my next dyno tune or go complain to NNA? Messing up an install on some sparkplugs is rediculous. This is the same dealer that i got gum in my passanger seats about 8 months ago, i have cloth seats, and the very same service dept managor that would not replace my seat covers but instead had it detailed w/o my consent! The gum is still in the fibers of my passanger seat and i think i have a real case now.

Enron......I'd take it easy on the car untill you go back to the dyno and just make sure all is well. Do you have anything in place to retard your timing?

Glad to hear it was just a couple coil packs.

I just got a call back from my tuner and he said i would be running leaner now then when i had my miss fires on the dyno. I probably will have to fight my appetite for power until next Monday or Tuesday when they will be able to retune my car and get a real dyno sheet for me.

Currently i dont have anything to retard timing mainly because im not sure which route to take nor am i sure how much more power mods to add.

I would not hesitate to call the dealer and ask for the money wasted on the dyno. If he will not help talk with the General Manager. Good luck.

Very interesting read. I just completed my stillen install, and my car runs extremely rough. I actually drove up the street and back, no faster than 15mph and burned up a catalytic converter. I'm guessing it was unburned fuel from a bad spark plug burning in the cat, because it was glowing red hot. Stillen thinks it could be a vacuum leak, but I'm going with spark, in either case, I put my gutted cats back on and it still ran rough (was hoping for a clogged cat, because the left exhaust pulses out of the pipe are definitely more sporadic than the right). I don't have the time to pull it apart again right now, so I had the car towed to my performance shop (Balanced Performance) and they will go over it tomorrow. Maybe I got 2 plugs I didn't seat completely.

I remember reading a guy with the Stillen SC had a Vacume leak from the plenum that the SC comes with ...Check into that..

Hmm crap, i just realized after reading 2003z's post that i think my cats are probably dead or next to it. I was running super rich and had alot of miss fires all day yesterday and the tuner had a real hard time getting the cats off my car for the O2 bung because they where so damn hot! I then had to drive to the dyno location and then the guys had to put the actual sensor in the bung and he complained alot about the heat and that even some of the metal beams next to the cats where **** hot. During the first run on the dyno when the guy floored it, a giant black cloud of smoke shoots out the exhaust. I mean a huge cloud! We did 7 runs that night with the miss fires and im thinking my cats are pretty much toast? What are some signs that a cat is gone?

mine didn't smoke, but I heard a loud pop. I think it was the ceramics breaking up, because there were lots of pieces when I took them off. I actually had a flashing CEL until the pop, then the light went out at the same time. It was steady after putting the gutted cats back on. The O2 sensor also had a lot of crap in it, which I blew out with my compressed air, but it may be toasted also.

I'm not sure if TX has smog checks, but that would be one way to find out maybe.

CEL's w/o a doubt, they could of smoked the cheap 02 sensors about 100 each, cheaper than Cats.

I was asking someone yesterday and you can get 02 Simm's for this car, you would be throwing lights though if they were bad.

I would be really giving these installers some crap and yeah you should redyno and they should buy you 6 new plugs and just stand your ground and don't take no for an answer.

Tell them thousands are following this install hehe

It will work out, you need to get the timing retard though before you get too dyno happy especially with these guys the smoke was probably super rich setting dumping fuel.

Change the plugs get timing retard through whoever then tune until then baby it.

well mine turned out to be something simple, that I could have figured out had I delved into it more and had the time. Somehow I had swapped the number 4 and 6 coilpacks when I changed the plugs, so I was running on only 4 cylinders.

I put down 304hp and 290 tq, with a/f running from 14:1 at 1500 rpm to 13:1 at redline, but intercooler pump wasn't hooked up and ecu was just reset, need to give it the weekend drag races then dyno again now that I have the intercooler fully functional. Should be around 340 like the one in the sportz shootout.
