Vortech hesitation
First, I had a problem with my crank belt squealing like crazy. I tighten the belt all the way the tensioner can go, and still I had the annoying noise. After I change the belt out and put a slightly smaller belt the noise went away.
Now I still have the problem of the car hesitating at about 5500 or higher with the blower. When I let go on the pedal the car will continue smoothly, but then I am not getting the most out of it. I called Vortech and they are telling me to change out the spark plugs, but I only have 10,000 miles on them right now. Is anybody else with the Vortech setup having similiar problems? Can sombody please give there thoughts on this problem that I am having.

Check the Vortech site.....instructions.....they suggest changing the plugs at install if you have so many miles on them .[not sure on the miles] I think they say to change them once a year after install or so many miles . Oh ...you should have the install instructions already .......good luck
sounds normal to me, looks like you are experiencing the timing being retarded at high RPM, have you tuned the kit yet with R4 software, and man listen to them when they say change the plugs........LOL good luck

The person who is going to dyno tune for me is waiting for the R4 software. Hopefully everything happens next week. On the spark plugs, Vortech is recommending to change the spark plugs if there has been more than 20,000 miles since the last change. I only have 10K. Though, I am still considering to go with iridium's. Any pros and cons in doing this?
amai21, make sure your tuner knows that R4 has a couple of different settings that determine the range of the x-axis. When you first install the software, it defaults to start at 0 psi... BUT THAT'S NOT THE ONE YOU WANT. You want the axis setting that shows both vacuum and boost. Otherwise, your tuner might make changes at what he *thinks* is 8psi but is really -12hg mercury or whatever.
Also... Make absolute sure he uploads the settings from the car first--then insist that he make a copy of that file before changing anything.
One last thing... the R4 software seems pretty sensitive as far as being able to read/write using the serial port. The USB-to-serial adapters that you can buy on eBay appear to work sometimes but not other times. Writing the changes to the device can take 10-20 minutes!!
