Nope, just switched out the spark plugs. I am confused about the ring you are talking about though. The tube that goes around the spark plug itself is part of the coil pack and the coil pack seals the exterior of the chamber at the top. This would have nothing to do with oil leaking into the spark plug chamber.

You are correct, but oil will still come out through the filter. The only way I can think of eliminating the problem is to use a greddy catch can. You would connect one end to the crank case and the other to the non-pressurized side of the turbo(s) (the vacuum, or intake side).

while this was unplugged it still had the oil problem so if i put a catch can in that spot the oil will still burn the way it is the hose was dangling in the spot the catchcan would be

Sorry, I thought you meant you were getting frustrated with oil coming out of the hose. The greddy catch can would catch the oil spilling out, but no, it won't keep you from burning oil.

Hrm. So oil is coming through the PCV/Breather inlet? Does the Z have a check valve to prevent the pressure from the mani under boost? I can't find anything about a PCV valve in the FSM. I didn't really take a good look at the pcv plumbing, ill check it out when I get home. Perhaps a check valve that seals up better under pressure would help.

The smoke from my Z is black, an excess of fuel. It only does it right after the throttle plate closes.

There is a metal tube that goes all the way up through the cylinder head almost to the top of the valve cover. At the top is a rubber ring that seals this tube as it passes through the valve cover. If this is cracked the oil would come over the top of the tube and down around the plastic coil assembly to the sparkplug.

Gotcha. Makes perfect sense now.

How hard is it to replace this ring?

i pulled the pcv valve capped where it goes in to the intake and let the one from thae valve cover dangle. what this means there is no way to get oil in to the intake but it still does it! this is so fustrating maybee it is skoe from exess fuelk but it sure does smell like oil? i dont think its bad turbos either becuase for 1 they are brand new 2nd it has done this since day 1 and third it doenst smoke at idle under throttle or anything only when you let off for 2-3 seconds max!

That depends on your BOV. If you just disconnect the signal line it will probably just leak because there will be no signal, or pressure to hold it shut.

Yeah let me know how it works out. I think I am going to try a few things as well, but it's supposed to rain all week here so the Z won't be leaving the garage for a while.

You have to pull off the valvecover...the ring is attached to the underside.
