Default Sad day for me..

Some of you guys know that I decided to sell my ATI Procharger, and it sold within a day. Well a member of this board sent me the money today, and I got the green light to take it off my car. Today I took the kit off the car, it took me about 3 1/2 hours to take off the blower, plumbing, all the brackets etc.. All that I have left is the fuel system and the J&S and SAFC tomorrow. I can honestly say I'm pretty down about taking it off, but it has to go I did atleast get to take it out for 1 more spin today, I met up with a member of the board Mike (mprowe350) and we exchanged rides in our cars (his is Procharged as well) and talked for a few. After that, I met up with a Z06 and I put about a car on him, so I atleast get to leave on a happy note All I can say now is this car is so slow without any FI, it's not even fun anymore. I don't even want to drive it lol. Anyway, be safe out there.

Bill

Yeah, I pulled my SC belt off last weekend to do some N/A testing. I totally forgot how slow the Z is without FI. I didn't enjoy driving the car at all. Felt like I was driving my wife's Dodge Neon.

What are you going to do now? Twin Turbo??? Now that would be fun. I almost wish I would've waited for TT.

Yeah, I imagine the low compression motor kills your low RPM torque.

I don't see how you could ever be satisfied with the car again without some sort of FI. Seriously, I forgot how much difference it made until I pulled the SC belt off.

Sorry Bill, I was down for 4 months and then ran w/o the belt several times after break in and it was gutless with the wide open exhaust.

Things always change man, roll with it. Who knows what the future holds.

"Better yet, why a new motor?"

Stronger internals, better compression, more BOOST!

You guys got it all wrong, I'm not rebuilding this motor for low compression and more boost

EJ, I dumped the Procharger because I just don't have the time to keep screwing around with it and trying this and that to get it working idealy.

I just finished polishing the blower, this thing is looking bling bling

Bill, how much did you have to play with it all the time to keep it running well? I was shocked when I read you were taking it off considering you have been one of the early installers and quite vocal on the forum.

So are you just planning on running as is forever? If so, you must be really bummed out.

When I first read one of your comments about taking it off about a couple of days ago I was gussing you might be going TT or maybe ordered a C6 vette and going with 400hp with a warrranty.

Actually, I have to admit that having the 2006 C6 Zo6 with an estimated 500hp with warranty is an attractive option considering most of the mod money thrown into a Z will be lost.

I dont have a lot of faith in GM so the question becomes for me would a Z06 be more reliable stock than a modified Z?

Jeff,

It was just alot of time spent tuning on the dyno, I have over 55 pulls on there, screwing with the timing, and I couldn't get rid of that god damn belt squel, plus honestly, I wasn't where I wanted to be with the kit, so it had to go. The kit is fine, I like it, I'm looking at it all polished up right now and yeah I'm sad to see it go. Am I going to stay N/A for the rest of the time I have this car? If that was the case then I'd trade the Z in for a Jetta, cause that's how it feels right now lol. I got something up my sleeves, don't I always?

How did you polish up the blower? I've been thinking of doing that, but if you could give me some tips that would be cool.

Well I got the polished blower and intercooler when I purchased it, I just cleaned it up for the guy that bought it from me, used the same polish I use on the lip of my wheels, and a dremel with polishing kit, worked really good.

Alright, just wanted to say that I finished installing my belt and I took the car out for a little spin. I might as well trade this car in for a Focus, because it feels just as slow. Seriously anyone that is N/A and says this car is fast needs a shot to the head I swear I won't even take this car to the track while it's NA, I'd be too embarassed. Sad thing is I still have headers, no cats, and an exhaust on the car, so it's not even stock stock. Someone wake me up from this bad dream.
