I'm guessing your doing this in manual mode if so,
To set it up for 6 psi you set the START to roughly 3 psi. The GAIN is not as easy. Start at zero and make a run it should be at the stock boost. Then up it a little say ten. Then make another run, it should be a little higher. Keep doing this until you get the 6psi and no more every run.

The START controls the point at which the boost solenoid starts to allow pressure to go to the waste gate. The higher you set it the fast your boost will build, but if you set it to close it will overshoot.

The GAIN controls the vent function. The more you vent the less pressure gets to the waste gate so it will allow more boost.

By "RUN" I mean a WOT 3rd or 4th gear pull.

Good luck,
Gary

Actually the Gain is how quickly the e-01 responds to the sensor data it sees. Higher gain can make your boost overshoot a bit, lower gain will make your boost build up slower. You want to adjust it up slowly to the point where you build boost quickly, but do not over shoot your desired boost level.

In auto mode the e-01 figures out the required solenoid duty cycle for a given boost level. It sound like you just have Gain and Duty confused.

Your right and wrong. On the e0-1 in the manual boost mode there is no "Duty" setting. It uses the Gain value to determine the duty cycle on the control valve. If you read pg.18 it describes the manual setup.

This is different than most Boost controllers. The Profec e0-1 dose use duty in the overtake mode. (pg. 20)

Why not just set it by the auto mode? Or is it not as accurate or "good?"

On the apexi I have on my other car the auto mode sucks, and the AVCR is an overall POS. But thus far on the Greddy the auto mode seems to work very well. I have only driven the car twice since the install, but every time it hit autoprogram mode it learned the settings after a few pulls and the boost did not over shoot.

7 eleven, cool, Thanks for clearing that up!
