Default 1/4 mile times greddy

Friday night at Atlanta Dragway.
1st run- rec. time was 1.2, trap speed was 65 mph, time was 16.5
2nd run-rec. time was .65, trap spped was 110 mph, time was 13.041
3rd run-rec. time was 1.25, trap speed was 113 mph, time was 13.44

The clutch blew on the first run with terrible wheel hop. did not go past 65 mph. I waited 30 minutes and ran 2nd. car would take off but not when boost kicked in. Oh, 1st and 2nd run was at 6.6 psi, and 3rd was at 7.4 psi. 3rd run i took it easy in start hoping clutch would not heat so fast, but not after boost. even tried 5th gear. did not help only trap speed. I will tell you 12's will be easy even with a 1.25 sec reaction time. mine dynoed at 343 at 4.9 psi. need ignition amp. and now a twin plate. hope to return next friday. Oh yeah need to fix my exhaust leak from both waste gates. and also fine tunning.

Actually at most test and tune 1/4 mile tracks the time does not start till your car starts moving so RTs don't count. Your times are based off the time it took from when your car started moving. A dude pulled a 1.45 RT and still run a 13.8 yesterday at the local track

LOL...........have you ever raced at a 1/4 mile raceway with X-mas tree lights?..........Reaction time does not effect your qrt mile time..............The time clock does not start until your front wheels trip the start clock sensor, all reaction time is for is bracket racing when you dial in...........LOL.........Are you sure you went to the drags???? I could sit at the line for 10 seconds then go and run the same ET as if I had a PERFECT .50 RT. Come on man, whats up, I smell BS..............all you need to worry about in the 1/4 is your 60' time and the rest will fall into place with good shifting.

Come on man, give him a break. Not everybody is a drag racer. Also, there is more to the 1/4 than the 60'.

I was'nt meaning anything against him, just posting the facts, and other than a SOLID 60' time and shifting correctly after that what else is there to a good 1/4 mile, I'm curious FLY BY Z?????

60ft times is one of the most important things in drag racing. shifting will make a differences too but, its not gonna be too from one driver to another. if you get your launch down and nail a good 60ft time, thats when your best times are gonna come out.

Its cool dude. My first time at the track I was confused as hell myself. I'm trying to smoke these RTs and then this other guy at the track was like "Dude I notice you smokin rubber just to get off the line quick." He told me to take my time on the launch. don't go till your ready. The RT wont hurt your time but a bad launch will. Who cares if the dude next you gets off the line like a mad mine. Let him go. At the end compare time slips.

It's all good. i understand where you were coming from.

the purpose for the thread was to say that the stock clutch will not last with the greddy kit especialy running higher boost. probably not long either with any FI. system.

i was told by guys who had been to the track before that i needed a good rt. but they did not know it was test and tune day also. but i must say, no other Z at the run. people were really impressed with the kit. i just need to get that **** leak fixed. an exhaust shop did not even want to touch it. i guess i will have to do it myself.

more guys need to go to the track. that was just as fun as going to the race track. i mean with a bike.
