I drove differently to try for better traction.

I also did a 12.587 @111.814 with a 1.89 60' and fouled with a .497 RT so I was backing off.

The left lane had a 12.590 at 109.961 I beat him by 2 100's that was a fun run

I bracket race so consistency is the key and I am looking for a 12.2 every time and just trying different launching and shifting techniques.

I ended up fouling out but my dial in is 12.1 for a reason, I think it is obtainable and it is my goal.

Kevin you going Saturday?

How is your car? I don't know if you got my message or not but the last time EJ and I went to CMI we both left in disgust. I paid I think 50-60 bucks and got 2 runs in 4 hours and it was hot as he!! and a waste of money. ZEX had 3 sponsored cars running 8's that seemed to get about 5 runs each. It was BS.

Just goes to show how important the launch is. I find it amazing that you ran a 12.3 with a trap speed of only 107 mph. I went to the track for the very first time last week and getting traction was much more challenging for me than it had been when practicing on the street.

My best 60' time was 2.3 so that gives you an idea of how ill-prepared I was. Basically I was spinning through 1st, letting off gas, shifting into 2nd and then going. It was A LOT more slippery than I thought (again, compared to launching on deserted roads) so I need a lot of practice. Even so, I was able to get trap speeds of 107.5mph a couple of times even though my best time was a measly 13.6.

12sec, congrats on the run. Back in my Honda daze I used to pass up the line-up light and back into it until I'm lined up. This will get your time down and your MPH will too. If you pull up to the line, your time will go up and you MPH will up as well. It's only about a 6 inch difference, but believe it or not, if you are a consistant driver, it makes a difference.

12.3. .3 more and you'll be in Lamborghini Mercealogo territory.

Yeah I have seen cars do that here too, I think they call it "deep staging."

As for constistancy I can go in Auto D mode and do 12.5 every time now but my 60' sucks and I can't hook. I have been playing with manual mode on the runs.

I am glad people realize and are honest that it isn't as easy as it looks to hook at the track.

I used to think the same thing. I could launch and run 12's with a GTech and I was always like "what's the big deal" why does everyone insist I need these expensive track tires etc?

Well I went to the track and ran 13's in my Z28 and learned that street and strip are apples and oranges. It was humbling.

I will never let my car be an 11 second car, it would need a roll cage and the interior is too beautiful to strip like that.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement! Keep in mind it is much warmer here now and making boost isn't as easy as it was two months ago!
