Tires for turbo?
all you guys with forced induction or plans for fi, what do you do about tires? would you just get better gripping tires or go wider? how would the stockers do with over 350whp?
for 400 whp youll need something like 295's or larger in the rear. id recommend something real sticky like 555's, gforce, or equivalent. though if you drive it on the street a lot you may want an EBC with a low boost setting around 4-5 psi for civility.
yeah dont imagine 350+rwhp with stock tires i'll tell you cuz i'm doing it worse right now. I'm on stock tires that are bald and damn i cant even boost really unless i am on the freeway(and damn over here it has been dizziling a lot so even worse), so good discussion i have been looking for some tires right now, but i have a question what do u think is the widest tire i cant fit on the track rims?

it depends on your uses for the car
i have run BF Goodrich Comp TA Drag radials (dont last very long though)
also have run Dunlop Sport W-10's and they gripped well
and ran Yokohoma AVS- sport (about $200 a tire)
that worked well.
widest i ran was 235 on the mr2's (dyno'd at 387 RWHP and 335ft/lbs) and while i could light them up, they weren't too bad, i also had the advantage of the weight of the engine on the back wheels.
what are you planning on using the car for? are these tires to be daily driven, raced, drag? that would help us
toyo's are very good tires as well

Search doesn't seem to work these days so I'll ask in this thread... Anyone use the BF Goodrich G-Force T/A drag radials as their regular tire? Yeah, seems pretty expensive as a daily driver tire but I'm just wondering if it would be feasible.
If not as a street use tire then how about on the track?

steve-
i used them as my daily tire, and along with quite a few trips to the track, i got about 1500 miles out of them, then i sold the car and it still had about half of the tred left. i drove it really hard though even around town.
my 235's were on 8.5" rims so yes, 275 sounds too small for 11"
that would be some really tight sidewalls if you could even get them on there
