ball bearing turboes dont last as long as traditional a lot of the new turboes have the bbs, i prefer to have the old style since its proven to last much longer. it seems like lots of ppl want the new bbs these days saying how they spool faster, etc, and they do but i like to have a reliable turbo too

Where are getting that info?

Garrett DBB turbos are 10x as reliable as conventional sleeve bearing turbos supposedly.

Even Turbonetics single BB with 360-degree thrust bearing is going to be considerably faster to spool and more reliable.

The thing to keep in mind is that cheaper BB turbos can be even less efficient that a good quality traditional turbo. Obviously, I lot of companies go to traditional turbos so save costs, especially since the benefits are sometimes not worth the extra costs for quality BB turbos.

The cast manifolds and mitsu 18g turbo were the decideing factor for me. I have been running mitsu turbos for a while without fail.

booooooooommmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great kit if they only took out some timing on that thing. As people can see in my sig. I did not even wanted to run the 5.7 with out take timing out. this is why I went the route I did with the greddy kit. Cost more but a heck of alot cheaper in the long run.

I dont know where you heard this, as the Garrett true double ball bearing turbochargers are, according to Garrett engineers who produce both sleeve and Ball bearing turbos at least 10 times more durable (reliable) than Garrett sleeve bearing turbos at the same boost pressure.

Default BB Ts

The main thing that will kill either sleeved or BB turbos is an improperly designed oiling system. Get that right, and they will most likely outlive your engine. Also a good Synthetic oil, changed on a schedule can't hurt either. Given these considerations a high quality BBT should outlast a comprable Sleeve type.

I bet SSR pulled their advertising because of the confrontational nature of the board

Hmmmmmm I cant see one reason to run this kit 7800 bucks vs Greddy and PE.

T3 turbos? WHY? Old old technology.

For anybody that believes ballbearing turbos are unreliable or not as efficient as journal bearing turbos better do a little research.

Thats like saying roller rockers are not as good as conventional rockers.

Or like saying stamped steel rims are just as good as forged aluminum. Come on.

SS exaust manifolds ?? probably because tooling for cast manifolds is too much $$$$$$.

Dont get me wrong ssr the kit looks decent but it does not look 8 grand decent

5 grand (T3 turbos) and u will sell 8 grand and i would take greddy or pe right now or if in the future when APS has the kit fitted for the g35 at roughly the same price as SSR with dual ball bearing turbos, Complete fuel system upgrade, Cast aircooled 6qt oil pan. custom intercooler...ect ect for the same money APS offers twice the VALUE.

Other than that you gotta look at greddy which is pretty cheap now and thanks to some guys on the board here alot of the kinks have been ironed out.

T3 turbos .....i just dont get it
