Howto: Install the GReddy ignition harness on the 350z.
Just finished it. Try this at your own risk. It's working great for me, and I think this is the same solution greddy is working on. I think they are just testing it a bit more throughly than I am.

Thank you for all the hard work!!!
Great job on the write up!
Keep us posted on how this is working out for you. I'll start with this install in a couple of weeks.
Stupid Question for you, you mention the RPM adapter...thats the RPM adapter that comes with the e-manage, correct? Or is this a seperate harness that you have.

Does the eManage come preloaded with a retarded ignition map? Or is it blank, and waiting for the new values?

On a side note, I just installed the walbro 255lph fp. I'm going to go with the TS flash to try to smooth out my idle. Then it's dyno time.
I'm hoping to make a low 12 second run before it gets too warm out here in detroit.

It's blank. I maped out a simple retard map. It's probably hurting performance, but it's good until I get the car on the dyno.

Yeah that's how it works. Put in -5 and it will pull 5 digrees. I am using the boost sensor to map it out. The map sensor is at 1.5vdc at atmospheric pressure, and every .1v is 1 psi. So 2.0vdc is 5 psi.

Is the retard value that you enter into the e-01 very intuative? Ie: for 5degrees of retard, you just enter -5 or something like that? Or is there some conversion or table of values?

Very nice....so i guess I need to buy the boost sensor harness for the emanage to see the boost? Or does the boost signal travel through the USB cable from the profect e-01 to the emanage??

You will need the specific Greddy sensor which hooks directly to the e-manage unit. Then feeds the info to the e-o1.

If this is true, this is an aweful design. You'd think that the boost senor in the Profec could send that message to the eManage via the USB Cable. Crap...something else I need to buy.

You need the Profec e-01 pressure sensor harness.

Yeah, I don't understand why it was designed like this, oh well. I got it when I ordered my ignition harness from ^ that web site. That's the best source for emanage parts and info I have found. Quick shipping as well. I am going to be tuning my fuel map to that sensor as well. That's the best way to do it.

Thanks for bringing this back to life.
And as a reminder to everyone...even if you install the diodes, dont leave your car in the "key-on-engine-off" position for more than a few seconds (all the indications lights on). This position for an extended period of time will still fry the coils. You can leave the key in the ACC position, so you can listen to your stereo and stuff...but keep it out of the "on" position unless the car is running..of course.

Hate to reincarnate this thread, but PN: 1N5400 has been replaced by 1N5401 . . . unfortunately, none of the Radioshacks in my area (3 or 4) have this particular rectifier diode!!! Is there a generic description for this diode that perhaps another diode will work too (ie so many volts and amps, etc)?
Thanks!
Gary
Thanks!
Gary
Interesting Note from Greddy . . . apparently they have an adapter to prevent the emanage from frying our coils. I've got one coming for my upcoming install. If they fry, I'll be the first to let ya know
