Turbo Questions
What's up, I have a few questions about turbo applications:
Alright, I was looking at the twin turbo Greddy makes and it looks very promising.
Now, just getting into it, would you reccomend already having say DC HEADERS, INJEN INTAKE, and even some exhaust and just order everything else that the turbo kit comes with?
I ask this because some of these parts you can get for a very good price and are each great companies and later if you order the kit minus the just the intake and headers wouldn't it be a little cheaper?
Are the DC headers and Injen Intake better than what Greddy uses for the turbo kit (for cost reasons)?
I would like to add parts "as I go" so would like to throw on some headers, intake and exhaust but would then hate to turn around and not use them upon a turbo kit instalment.
Also i'm afraid that if there are secondary parts then the results would'nt be as in tact. Am I wrong?
Thanks alot this really helps out. I would hate to F! it up and waste money.

Turbo chargers are powered by exhaust gasses exiting the engine. A turbo system uses exhaust collectors (headers) that have fittings to attach the turbo that the exhaust gasses pass through. You should do some more research on the basics of how a turbo works and what the different parts are. The intake would be useless too. The intake track on the TT system is totally different. They both end up at the same place but take totally different paths. If you want to buy some stuff for your car before you get the turbo consider a stronger clutch or maybe the GReddy EVO exhaust or better yet a custom 3 inch cat-back. Good luck.

All of the above mentioned items are useless on a turbo...except for the exhuast. As stated, you need a special manifold to install the turbos...you can't just slap a turbo onto your stock or DC headers. The intake is not usable either.
The exhuast is very useful for turbos...so get that...and save your money for the TT kit.

I'd recommend lurking and learning on the boards for at least a month before buying any type of F/I system. There is a strong knowledge base on this board...just take some time to sort through the threads.
Thanks man. It's a while before I even get my Z so i'm starting to learn as much as I can now about this car imparticular and there are so many projects on so many cars that I want to know what to eventualy do with my Z.
I'm just now learning the techs of forced induction, etc. I don't want to be that kind of person that saves money and reads about something that is reputable who's like "that's fast so I want it" and all I can say to someone is "well, it has this much power because I put this in it and that's what it says on their website so there for that means I can kick your ***"...
much like all these bitches and punks down here in plano who are still in high scholl driving trans-ams and camaros that talk **** but only know as much as the next plano high-schooler...
Anyways, everyones input is helpful and think of it this way, your doing your part in contributing to keeping posers off the road, ecspecioly those who want to represent the Z community so thanks for your time.
